Thank you for your interest in Nashville Christian School Summer Camps! Our Vision is to help students realize and pursue their full potential—spiritually, intellectually, physically, and

socially—while learning to establish and grow their relationship with God. That vision applies to summer camp as well. We have lots of great offerings—athletic, academic, fine arts, and even a

cooking camp! Our camps are designed to foster relationships, build skills, and excite the imagination. Our camp directors are experienced and talented educators, guided by their Christian faith, and trained in

their field of study.

Camp Eagle Pride provides a fun-filled summer for boys and girls. Come join us for swimming, crafts, field trips, sports, and games.

*Note: There is no camp on July 4.

w $35 per day; or $135 per week, plus a one-time, non-refundable deposit of $30 per student

SUMMER DAY CAMPS

CAMP BIG BLUE May 31 - Aug. 5, M-F w 6:30 am - 6 pmRising KindergartnersDirector: Christine DunnLocation: Lower School

Big Blue is specifically designed for rising kindergartners by Nashville Christian’s Early Childhood Director, Christine Dunn. Big Blue is staffed by highly qualified lead teachers who have been trained in proven Pre-K strategies that enhance cognitive development and lay the best possible foundation for life-long learning. Camp includes: movies, water adventure, gymnastics, wheel days, learning lab, art studio, and off-site/on-site field trips. Big Blue fills up fast, so don’t wait.

*Note: There is no camp on July 4.

w $40 per day; $100 per 3-day week; $150 per 5-day week, plus a one-time, non-refundable deposit of $25 per student

This camp will provide your student with the foundation for baking, following recipes, and cleaning and sanitizing the cooking area. Of

course, the best part will be sampling all of our delicious creations! Space is limited to 13 students (a baker’s dozen).

w $135 per student (includes all supplies and ingredients)

CSI SCIENCE CAMPJune 13 - 16 w 9 am - 12 pm w Rising 7th - 9th Grade

Director: Dr. Melody Noah / Kristen CarneyUpper School, Room #HS2

The camp will focus on the physical and chemical parts of forensic science, and how science is used in law and justice. We will use microscopes, slides, simulated evidence, and case studies to investigate

crimes committed and how the cases were solved.

READING/BOOK CLUB June 13 - 17 w 9 am - 12 pm w Rising 3rd - 5th GradeDirector: Julie Shaver / Kathy GuptonLocation: Lower School, Room #153

This camp involves reading books, doing crafts, having snacks and playing games associated with the book...a different book each day. Minimum number of students: 5; maximum number: 20.

Minecraft is everywhere! Whether you are completely new to Minecraft or an expert, the Experience Minecraft Camp has something to appeal to you! We’ll have adventures, work as a team to build houses and cities, run obstacle courses, go on scavenger hunts and much more. All in the creative world of Minecraft! Space is limited to 20 students.

LIFE SKILLS CAMPS FUN WITH MATH CAMPIf your child loves math or just needs that refresher course or extra boost before

getting back into the swing of things, math camp is just the way to accomplish that!

Topics covered: symmetry through art, “fabulous” fraction cookies, “timely” scavenger hunting, mean, median, and mode Olympics, outside area and perimeter.

July 11 - 15 (Session 2) w 1 - 3 pm w Rising 2nd - 3rd GradeDirector: Kim YoungLocation: Lower School, Room #106

Hands on learning through art, relay races, scavenger hunting, and games. Topics covered: time, money, multiplication facts, fractions, bar models.

READING AND WRITING SKILLS “BOOT CAMP”July 25, 27, 29 w 8 - 11 am w Rising 6th - 12th GradeDirector: Trisha McWrightLocation: Lower School, Room #125

Do you need a leg up on your reading and writing skills before the upcoming school year? This camp will provide targeted practice on reading comprehension and writing skills for middle school and high school students so they can start the year off with confidence. There will also be time for students to receive individualized one-on-one help with summer reading work.

SCIENCE CAMPJuly 18 - 22 w 9 - 11 am w Rising 2nd - 4th GradeDirector: Kim YoungLocation: Lower School, Room #106

Calling all Scientists!! Let’s get together and explore the world around us through investigations and experiments! Topics covered are: natural disasters (hurricanes, tornadoes, volcanoes, etc), the weather cycle, fossils, mixtures and chemical reactions, and the solar system. Please bring/wear clothing that could be stained. We have some “messy” experiments planned.

Campers will use artist’s tools and materials to ex-perience a variety of studio arts! They will explore 2D and 3D processes to create drawings, paintings, sculpture, and clay projects. Each session will vary in theme to encourage students to find fun new ways to express their own creativity!

Join us for Family Fridays when students invite their friends and family to a showing of their work! Class size is limited to 20 students.

INTRO TO PUPPETRYJune 13 - 17 w 12 - 3 pm Rising 2nd - 6th GradeDirector: Nicole ArnoldLocation: Gibson Building, Room G2

Class will involve pre-made and student-made puppets. Proper puppetry form and skills will be be taught as well as how to be an effective and engaging storyteller.

ALL “DAHL”ED UPJune 20 - 24 w 8 am - 3 pm

Rising 2nd - 11th GradeDirector: Nicole Arnold

Location: Gibson Building, Room G2

This camp builds acting and musical theater skills by exploring the works of beloved children’s author Roald Dahl, including: James and the Giant Peach, Matilda, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and Fantastic Mr. Fox. Campers will need to bring a sack lunch. Students will present a theatrical showcase at the end of the week. Minimum number of students: 5.

w $100 per student plus an additional $30 non-refundable deposit ($15 sibling deposit)

CREATIVE CRITICAL THINKINGJune 13 - 17 w 8 - 11 am w Rising 3rd - 7th GradeDirector: Nicole ArnoldLocation: Gibson Building, Room G2

Based on brain research and the need to build con-nections to further and retain learning, activities will be kinesthetic, artistic, dramatic, game-oriented and focused on critical thinking.

It doesn’t matter if you have the newest DSLR camera, or just the camera on your phone—this camp is for you. Campers will learn some of the basic principles of photography while focusing on creativity. They will be given challenges and themes throughout each of the sessions that will stretch their imaginations and develop their creativity. Bring a camera!

This basketball camps’ primary goal will be to emphasize the core fundamentals of the sport to the athletes. Nashville Christian high school players will serve as assistant coaches and mentors to the campers—providing a unique opportunity for one-on-one work and personal attention.

w $60 for Session 1 / $50 for Session 2

FOOTBALL SKILLS CAMPJune 13 - 16 w 8 - 11 am Rising 3rd - 8th GradeDirector: Jeff BrothersLocation: NCS Football Field

Coach Jeff Brothers and his staff will instruct campers with the same drills and techniques found at the high school level and beyond. This camp provides instruction for all levels of development.

Come to this camp to play, play, play, and have fun. Activities include capture the flag, dodge ball, flag football, kickball, relay races, and many more games.

BASEBALL CAMPJune 20 - 22 w 8 - 11 am w Rising K - 8th Grade

Director: Ben WilliamsLocation: NCS Baseball Field

This camp provides valuable instruction on the fundamental skills of baseball. The focus will be on teaching efficient mechanics for throwing, hitting, fielding, and base running, while emphasizing the mental aspects of the game. This camp will also bring in guest speakers with professional and college experience to sign autographs, interact with the kids, and share some stories about their playing days.

w $85 per student

BOYS BASKETBALL CAMPJuly 18 - 21 (Session 1) w 8:30 - 11:30 am w Rising 2nd - 4th GradeJuly 25 - 29 (Session 2) w 8:30 - 11:30 am w Rising 5th - 8th GradeDirector: Mike McPherson

Location: NCS Main Gym

The camp’s focus will be to demonstrate and instill the core fundamentals of basketball, including: passing, shooting, dribbling, body positioning, court

awareness and motivation. High school players will serve as assistant coaches and mentors to the campers—providing multiple opportunities

for personal attention and a one-on-one work environment. Fundamentals will be reinforced through supervised games of

three-on-three, four-on-four, and of course five-on-five. The camp will close with a Free Throw Competition and a 3-Point

Tournament; prizes will be awarded! Basketballs will be provided, but campers may bring their own ball (please

be sure their name is on it.) Snacks will be provided.

WRESTLING CAMPJuly 18 - 21 w 8 - 11 am w Rising 3rd - 8th GradeDirector: Alan Clark / Jerry MorrisonLocation: NCS Gibson Gym

This camp is for the novice as well as the experienced wrestler. The camp will focus on the basic fundamentals of wrestling with live competition daily. Participants will learn takedowns, pinning combinations, tilts, escapes, and reversals. Our camp mission is to encourage all young wrestlers to develop a love of the world’s oldest sport, as well as to teach them the rules and techniques for middle and high school competition.

w $70 per student

FOOTBALL PADDED CAMP

July 18 - 20 w 6 - 7:30 pmRising 3rd - 8th Grade

Director: Jeff BrothersLocation: NCS Football Field

This camp will divide participants into groups of similar age/skill level for a slightly more intense football experience. While contact is part of the camp, it is not a full scrimmage atmosphere. Helmets and shoulder pads are required. Rentals are available upon request.

w $60 per student ($15 rental fee, if needed)

GIRLS SOFTBALL CAMPJune 20 - 23 (Session 1) w 5 - 7 pm w Rising K - 4th GradeJune 20 - 23 (Session 2) w 7 - 9 pm w Rising 5th - 8h GradeDirector: Ashley PageLocation: NCS Softball Field

The camp’s objective is to help each individual develop skills in hitting, fielding, and throwing. Campers will also learn how to bunt and slide. Infield and outfield play will be stressed as well as proper pitching and catching form.

VOLLEYBALL ALL SKILLS CAMPJuly 18 - 21 (Session 1) w 2 - 4 pm w Rising 3rd - 5th GradeJuly 18 - 21 (Session 2) w 4 - 6 pm w Rising 6th - 8th GradeDirector: Kayce GreenLocation: NCS Main Gym

This three-day camp will cover all the fundamental skills of volleyball including passing, serving, setting, hitting and blocking. Players will work by position to learn and master all the skills necessary to compete at the highest level of competition.

CHEER CAMPAugust 2 - 5 w 5 - 7:30 pm w Rising K - 5th GradeDirector: Kendra Gray / Morgan LeeLocation: NCS Main Gym

Cheer camps main purpose is to inspire spirit on and off the field. The NCS Varsity Cheerleaders will assist Coach

Kendra and Coach Morgan in teaching cheerleading fundamentals such as motions, cheers, sidelines,

dances, jumps and stunts. A parent pep-rally will be held on the last day of camp.
