About CPRICentral Power Research Institute (CPRI) is an autonomous Society under Ministry of Power,

Government of India. CPRI functions as a National Centre for applied research in electrical power

engineering and as an independent authority for testing and certification of power equipment.

The Distribution System Division of CPRI is equipped with advanced sophisticated software

packages for providing consultancy services and take up R&D Projects in the power distribution

system. The division successfully completed the consultancy services like APDRP, RGGVY and DRUM

programs. The ongoing consultancy services in the division are R-APDRP, RGGVY, loss evaluation

studies, Niranthara Jyothi, Safety Audit and training for utility engineers. Teams of expert with vast

experience are working in the Division.

The Distribution Systems Division has the following expertise to cater to the various problems of

    utilities and others in distribution.

    1) Project Monitoring & Supervision

    2) Distribution System Planning, Analysis and AT & C loss Evaluation

    3) Reliability Indices Evaluation for various distribution networks

    4) Distribution Automation & Implementation

    5) Software Development and R&D for Distribution Utilities

    6) Training & manpower development

    7) Smart Grid

About the ConferenceThe power sector in India is today poised for augmentation and change in a big way. With the

increased focus on turning around the sector into a commercially viable and self-sustainable one,

the need for strengthening the distribution systems and enhancing revenue streams is receiving

the highest priority. The Utilities are also providing a focused effort towards this.

Keeping pace with the developments in the sector, the conference aims to provide the participants

an understanding on the Distribution reforms, electricity distribution in present systems and

practices, exposure to the latest trends and technology advances, identification and design of

improvement projects for system augmentation, AT&C loss evaluation and reduction schemes,

improvement in reliability and overall consumer satisfaction.

The discovered smart grid concept enables us an access to an efficient way for solving the issues

of environment protection, energy saving, emission reduction and renewable energy resources

problems, which coincides with our conference goal.

  • NCPD - 2014
