NCCA Pryde’s EasiFeed National Champion Rider Title

Event 2017

The NCCA PRYDE’S EasiFeed NATIONAL CHAMPION RIDER TITLE EVENT

2017 was held at Warwick and hotly contested by competitors from the four

associations, with Rohan Marks from the ACA taking out the title riding his horse

Cowboy .5 in front of ACA rider Steve Comiskey.

The event is staged over three rounds, with the highest total aggregate rider declared

the winner. The top five riders from each of the four Campdrafting Associations in

Australia being the Australian Campdrafting Association (ACA), Australian

Bushman’s Campdrafting and Rodeo Association (ABCRA), Southern Campdrafting

Association (SCA) and Gippsland Campdrafting Association (GCA) coming together

to compete against one another for the title of 2016 NCCA Pryde’s Easifeed National

Champion Rider. This year we saw the edition of the Champion Lady Rider from

each association join their team to bring the team total to 6.

This event was again made possible with the large and continued support of Pryde’s

EasiFeed who donated cash and product to the value of $25,000 and all Associations

join with the NCCA in thanking Peter Pryde for his generous Sponsorship. Thanks

also to Rod Kidner for his continued efforts, help and support during the event.

NAB Agri Business where also back on board this year with their sponsorship of the

magnificent Bronze Trophy made by Kay Paton. Thanks to Paul Swift from the Nab

Agri Business for taking out the time to present the Bronze Trophy to the winner

Rohan Marks. Ben Rossiter from Campdraft Training Online – CTO, also sponsored

a cap for the winners and placegetters.

Cheryl Joosten presented the Rod Kaye Bits and Spurs NCCA Champion Rider

handcrafted bit to Rohan Marks. The Champion Rider also received a rug from the

NCCA.

John Davison from Davo’s Whips donated a handcrafted 16 strand Kangaroo hide

whip valued at $600 which was awarded to Jess Hoffman for Sportsmanship and

Horsemanship. Jess also took out the highest cut out aggregate and won a service fee

from Tom & Jane Williamson.

Rohan Marks and Steve Comiskey were the winners of the Highest Outside

Aggregate Score and received a service fee to Kneipps Conray donated by Codie and

Natalie Law of Yarrawa Stock Horses

The ACA was this year’s team winner receiving $1000 prize money from Pryde’s

EasiFeed.

Our judges for this year’s event were Troy Clarke and Brian Southern. We thank

them for taking time out of their busy schedules to judge the event.

This year the NCCA took part in running their event. Thank you to each association

for helping out with the running of the Pryde's EasiFeed NCCA National Champion

Rider Event and to Mr Steve Condell for travelling to commentate our event and the

great team of Warwick for handling the cattle out the back yards. Transport workers,

cattle donors and volunteers are a valuable part of drafting life. Thanks also to Penny

McIntyre from Campdraft Central for entering all the results and draws for us.
