Program DescriptionCalifornia’s new standards call forstudentstodevelopliteracyinallcontentareas. This institute develops teachers’music literacyandskillsalignedwiththeCalifornia K-8musicContent StandardsandCommonCoreLiteracy inTechnicalSubjects. Through engaging directly inthe art of music, teachers uncover thecontent, literacy, artistic processes, anddevelop skills to teach music. Teachersdiscover the connections and supportmusiceducationprovides to theEnglishLanguageArtsCommonCoreandEnglishLanguageDevelopmentStandards.
Participating teachers create andimplementastandards-basedmusicunitfor their classroom while re-igniting the creativity of their students and themselves!
