From Failure to Success

“The quickest road to success is to possess an

attitude of ‘no fear’ towards failure.

The sweetest victory is the one that’s the most

difficult, the one that requires you to reach down deep

inside, to fight with every thing you’ve , to be willing to

sacrifice everything out there on the battle field-

without knowing, until-that do-or die moment, if your

heroic effort will be enough.

Failure is just the first stage of success. Only those

who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly.

Life is like a roller coaster, it has its ups and downs.

But it’s your choice to scream or to enjoy the ride. As

the well known quote goes “Practice makes man

perfect”. To succeed in your life, you need a lot of

hard work, and self-interest on the particular work.

Those who try to do something and fail… are infinitely

better than those who try to do nothing and succeed.

Yes, many failures behind a victory is the greatest

success of life. And we always learn something in each

failure. We try to correct our mistakes. But the sudden

success may not be permanent and it’s not the

successful victory. If a person wins for the first time

but fails in the second stage, then they call it as luck

and not a successful victory.

One of the biggest secrets to success in operating

inside your strength zone but outside of your comport

zone. Everything is possible, but the only thing we

need is fearless mindset, perfect preparation and

positive attitude.

It doesn’t matter what resources you have, if you

don’t know how to use them, they will never be enough.

So friends,

“Before you Quit, Try”

The Inner Meaning of Life…

Life and love go hand in hand

Trust and relation too

When all are busy with their errand,

And, no one really brothers to.

Life is after all a game,

You never have to behave being the same.

Life comprises of many creatures,

And all paly their rolein nature.

Why bother about your future, I say,

If you aren’t concerned about today!

You can never run away,

Nor spin the opposite way.

What must happen will happen that day,

Even if you don’t want it that way!

Find the inner meaning of life,

It’s not like, being or finding a wife.

Zero is a Hero

Would it be right if you say, zero is ‘nothing’? Well, the answer is ‘yes’ and ‘no’.

Zero indeed represents ‘nothing’ but without it maths and calculation would be

difficult, if not impossible. Zero, in fact is a mystery number . It will make no

difference if you omit it when counting, adding or subtracting from a normal number,

but put it to the right of a number and, as if by magic, that number increases ten-

fold! Multiply it by another number, the answer is always ‘zero’. Division by ‘zero’

is problematic and calculators will not perform the task, rather it would register an

error. Clearly ‘zero’ is something and not ‘nothing’.

It took man a long time indeed to come up with the symbol ‘0’. It came into use only much after he began

writing and also after he succeeded in representing the numbers 1-9. The Babylonians were the first who

attempted to denote ‘zero’. In their arithmetic, they left a space where a ‘zero’ was required. This was

sometimes unnoticeable and therefore overlooked. It resulted in much confusion. For instance, in a number

like 4016 a separator was used between 4 and 1, but when this was overlooked, the number would be taken

as 416. The Babylonians failed to conceptualize ‘0’ as a symbol. It is believed that Greek astronomers took

the first step towards achieving this. They used a coin as a counter when counting on sand-boards. When

the counter was removed, it left a depression in the sand which looked like a ‘0’. Egyptian astronomers also

seemed to have used it, but it fell into disuse.

It was in India that numerals and the number system were unambiguously used. The Indians first used to

denote an empty place. Around 500 AD, Aryabhatta devised a number system, but it had no 0 in it. He used

the word ‘kha’ for position which was later used as the name for ‘zero’. The first record of the Indian use of the

‘0’ is sun in 876 AD. An inscription in the town of Gwalior says a garden measuring 187 by 270 hastas was

planted to yield 50 garlands a day for the local temple. The numbers 270 and 50 appear as they would today,

though ‘0’ is slightly smaller and raised.

The Arabs adopted the Indian system of numerals. It’s from the ‘sifr’ that the word ‘apher’ originates. They

passed it on to Western mathematicians and ‘0’ as a number and symbol was established.

As we all now know, zero is an important and integral part of mathematics and more especially, of the

decimal system of counting. One has only to think of the enormous difference between. 001, 01, .1 1and

10,100 to release the power and importance of ‘0’. As Shakunthala Devi points out, zero has the ability to

destroy all other numbers- zero times any thing is zero.

Zero is no mean hero, for it can create problems even today. Recently many people

celebrated the new millennium on January 1, 2000. They were really celebrating only the

passing of 1999 years. When the calendar was set up , no ‘0’ was specified. The third

millennium and 21st century started only on January 1, 2000!!!!

Justice

People say, we stand today in hope with millions across the country and indeed, the world that justice will

prevail in all cases but in many of the cases justice is not being prevailed.

Women continue to face violence in every space they occupy, including their own homes, public transport

and at workplace. There have been many attacks on women and girls, some accompanies huge media

coverage, but most taking place away from the public glare.

In case of man with no political background, no god father, commits a single mistake, he will be subjected

to harsh punishments. We can see many similar examples in our day to day life where a common man gets

harsh punishments and so called rich people escape even after committing the crimes.

So what exactly is Justice? Does justice depend on the basis of money, caste, gender, political power etc?

Yes, it is purely dependent on money. Every individual needs to think about this seriously and as young

responsible citizens we need to treat everyone equally and we should not entertain people who divide India on

the basis of money, politics, caste, etc. If every one thinks in similar manner and follows protesting the same

then I am sure that everyone will get equal Justice and we can make CORRUPT FREE INDIA

Selflessness Motivates Us

Towards the end of the year 1997, many countries in South East Asia suffered from a massive

financial crisis. Amongst these, South Korea was perhaps the most affected, where the Korean currency

“Won” depreciated so much rapidly, that it left a huge USO SO Billion hole in the country’s economy.

This rapid downfall collapsed and crushed the very back bone of South Korean economy. Many banks

and industrial houses had to close down. And yet the way these citizens responded is very unique

example in history.

In January 1998, South Korea started a campaign called “Collect Gold for Love of Korea” with the

help of Samsung, Hyundai and Daewoo corporation. The government simply applied citizens to donate

their gold voluntarily. And to the surprise of the entire world people gave away almost every thing.

House wives donated wedding rings, athletes donated medals, lucky keys etc. and this was done on the

streets with huge bags and people used to donate their precious things for the sake of country with eyes

full of tears. No written accounts were recorded. South Koreans collected almost UDS 200 million worth

gold from its citizens. During the same period the world was taken by storm by the movie Titanic. But in

South Korea not a single ticket was sold for the first 2 weeks. On interviewing people, the answer was

simple “If we buy tickets in won, it would get converted to US Dollars and would leave South Korea. We

cannot afford Dollars”. The above 2 events have left a very deep and indelible impression on my mind.

South Korea came out of the financial crisis quickly and today ranks amongst top 10 economies in the

world.

When we go to visit countries in Europe or USA, we admire the systems there and discipline and

people. This is an example of what people do for their country. A country is what its people are. It’s

people who make it count.

We must distinguish between true friends and false friends. A true is who stands by us through prosperityand he sacrifice his in terest for our sake. A false friend who serves his own interests better than his friendsand he makes himself source when bad times or misfortunes befall his friends. We should be very carefulwhile choosing the friends.

Is Parental Care Declining Now A Days?

One day a Samu boy went to his father and asked him to give Rs. 500 for some purpose. His father

suspicialy said that such a little boy had nothing to do with so much money and refused to give it. The boy

quietly went aside. But after sometimes his father became curious about what could be the reason for his

demand.

So, he went near him and gave him a Rs. 500 note. The boy was so happy and kept it in a book, where so

many similar notes were stocked up. His father was shocked on seeing that. He shouted, “How did you get so

much money and what will you have to do with it?”

Now the boy started counting all notes and gave it to his father saying, “Dad, this is Rs.

6000, your day’s salary. So, now can you please spend your day to day with me?” His

father was so much touched by his words.

Due to heavy work load, modernization etc. Parental care is declining at rapid Pace.

Beti Bachao Beti Padao

Beti Bacho Beti Padhao programme is a nationwide scheme launched purposefully to address the issue of

decreasing girl child ratio in the society as well as empowering girl child in the country. This scheme was

successfully launched by the Indian Prime Minister NarendraModi on 22nd of January 2015 at Panipat, Haryana.

This scheme is to make people aware of the importance of girl child in the Indian society as well as bring

some positive changes in the people’s mindset towards girl child. People in the Indian society have very rude

mind set about the girl child. They think that girls are like burden in their life who only need to take whole life

from their parents or husbands and never give.

The continuous decreases in the ratio of girl child per boy child is clearing this issue very well. So, this

scheme was launched by keeping in mind to prevent sex determination, female feticide, save girl child

ensure safety of girl child, as well as provide quality education to them.

In order to improve the status of girls and give them importance, Haryana Govt. celebrates an event

named ‘Betikilohri’ on January 14. The purpose of launching Beti Bachao Bet Padhao scheme is to make

girls independent socially and financially using their proper rights and higher education.

While launching the scheme, PM reminded the whole medical fraternity that the purpose of

medical profession is to save lives and not finish lives.

Self Help

Have you ever wondered who loves you the most? If your answer is ‘my parents’, ‘my friends’ then you

are not perfectly correct. It is only ‘you’ who love yourself to an absolute extent. Because its you who

consider yourself as a very important person. Nobody thinks about us as much as we do and of course, it

is a normal human tendency to do that. All this means you are the hero and thus a life savior of your life. It

is only you who decides how to handle your difficulties and help yourself. It can happen only when you think

that, you do not exist in this difficult situation anymore and you need help. This is helping yourself. Hence

it is always said that until you help yourself, nobody else can. Imagine your are under depression and if you

share about it with someone close, then it clearly means that you are approaching for

help, to get rid of your depression. If this attitude of ‘self help’ is developed in us, then

every person can get over anything and everything that he dislikes. I believe each person

is his best therapist and by helping yourself, you definitely solve all your problems and

ultimately you will be happy to find thus, you can keep everyone happy.

This Powerful Glue Sets at Room Temperature

Almost all electronics in our lives – computers, stereos, toasters contain printed circuit boards upon

which different components are soldered. This soldering is often done by hand, an incredibly delicate

procedure A team of researchers at Boston’s Northeastern University have come up with a way to

“glue” metal to metal at room temperature, no heat required.

Hanchen Huang, a professor and chair of Northeaster’s department of mechanical and industrial

engineering, and two of his PhD. students came up with the process which they call Meso Glue. The

team’s research was published this month in the journal “Advanced Materials and Processes”.

The process works by taking advantage of metallic Nano rods tiny metal rods just 10 to 20 Nano

meters wide, coated with Iridium on one side and Gallium on the other. The rods are arranged in lines

on an upper and lower substrate, like teeth on a zipper. When the teeth are interlaced, the Iridium

core of the metallic nano rods turns that liquid into a solid, creating a firm bond. The whole process

takes less than a minute. “It happens at room temperature, pretty much with just your finger tip pressure”

Haung says.

Unlike standard polymer glue, the metal glue stay strong at high temperatures and under high

pressure. It’s also an excellent conductor of heat and electricity and resists air and gas leaks. Circuit

boards without soldering. This eliminates the risk of the soldering process damaging the other elements

on the circuit board, a long time problem in circuit board creation.

Mesoglue could also be useful in heat sinks, the components that keeps electronics from over

heating. Typically heat sinks use what’s known as “thermal grease” or “thermal paste”, a conductive

adhesive used to fill in gaps between the heat sink and the heat source. This is important because it

keeps out air that would otherwise act as an insulator and reduce the heat sink’s performance. Mesoglue

could replace thermal paste, as it has higher thermal conductivity and isn’t prone to drying out.

Ultimately, the increased efficiency of heat dissipation could lengthen the life of the electronic product.

Mesoglue could also come in handy for attaching pipe fittings in places where welding is not possible.

Since no heat, electricity or gas is involved in making the bond, there is no risk of explosions or other

dangerous reactions.

Success is the result of hard work, dedication,

meticulous planning and learning from our own

failures. My participation in RD parade at New Delhi

is an evidence to suggest that this belief is true for

all the times.

My journey towards this end began from my PU

days. I was an NCC cadet and spared no opportunity

to excel others to be ahead of the team. No sooner I

took admission to my graduation course, I enrolled

myself in the NCC too, to further my ambition to be a

part of the Republic Celebrations. During the course

of our regular practice parade, one day, we were told

by instructor to register our names for participation in

RDC, provided one is willing to face all the odds. I

thought it is a God sent opportunity for me to

accomplish my long cherished ambition and

registered my name at once.

Then began the rigorous practice sessions at

various location varying in duration as well, 30 days

camp at Alva’s Moodbidri, 10 days at Mysore, 30 days

camp at A.F. Station Bangalore were a few among

them. At every stage, the cadets were screened

discreetly and I was a part of 120 member contingent

ultimately selected out 500 aspirants and were

arranged to reach New Delhi on 20th January 2016

My RD Camp Experience

for acquaintance and rehearsals. A full dress

rehearsal was held on 23rd January.

Then came the day, the 26thJanuary , the day I

was so anxiously waiting for. That day, we all had to

get up at 2.45 AM, get ready, draw the rifle and report

to the instructors who took us to’Rajpath’ for the ‘D’

day event. It was a proud movement for us to salute

the dignitaries no less than the President and the

Prime minister of India.

Again on 28th we had to partake in the ‘Beating

Retreat’, function which symbolically indicates the

troops receding to their barracks. On our return at

Bangalore we, all the cadets were honoured by the

Governor of Karnataka and sent back to our respective

units.

These are the anecdotes of my most thrilling

venture which I think every youngster should aspire

for. The honour that I received on my achievement

from my college, my family members, friends and the

society at large is an unparalleled one. The memories

should ever remain fresh in my mind. I wish to express

my gratitude to my institution, particularly to Lt. Sudha,

NCC Officer, and my family members and friends for

their support and encouragement without which my

dream wouldn’t have turned in to a reality.
