NMSO Role in Navy M&S Education
NMSO Role in Navy M&S Education
NMSO sponsors an M&S degree program through the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS), Modeling Virtual Environments and Simulation (MOVES) curriculum
Completion of this curriculum results in an officer who can be assigned an M&S Subspecialty Code: Navy: 6202 USMC: 8825 US Army: FA 57
NMSO advocates annually to identify requirements for advanced M&S education in the Navy Subspecialty System
NMSO reviews billets, coding and NPS school quotas

Continue our advocacy for MOVES billets
Fleet M&S billets that are filled determine M&S quotas at NPS/MOVES
Placement Officers not filling Fleet M&S billets has been a problem
Need YOUR help identifying billets that need 6202 Subspecialty Codes assigned to them
Goal: Obtain senior leadership assistance to help fill M&S Subspecialty Codes/billets Help get billets coded, as well

FEEDBACK!
Based on what you learned at MOVES and during your M&S-related tour:
What was useful? What was not useful? What else should be added to the curriculum to
produce the kinds of M&S professionals needed by the Services?
What billets could benefit being filled by a MOVES graduate?
What billets do not benefit being filled by a MOVES graduate?
What sort of feedback system would be useful?

The DoD M&S Catalog is a tool users can use to search for and evaluate information about M&S resources.
The tool performs analysis of the characteristics of the search result set.
The tool can load data from multiple file types as long as the format is known and specifies the metadata elements.
Coordination between source sites and the M&S Catalog ensure the metadata is only accessible to authorized users.
