NAVY CHILDREN SCHOOL, VISAKHAPATNAM KINDERGARTEN WING, NSB AND DH ACTIVITY REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF APR & MAY 2015 OPENING DAY : The school reopened on 1st April 2015. The day commenced amidst the excitement of teachers decorating the school for the arrival for new students i.e. LKG & to welcome the UKG children who were entering the 2nd year of Kindergarten programme. To settle the LKG tots, the timings determined was 0930 hrs to 1130 hrs initially which was changed to 0930 hrs to 1230 hrs after 02 weeks. WORLD HEALTH DAY : World Health Day (07 Apr 15) was celebrated in the assembly. The children were informed about health and hygiene. Good food habits were stressed upon with the message “Say no to junk food”. WORLD HERITAGE DAY: World Heritage Day (17 Apr 15) was celebrated in the assembly. The children were shown pictures of our vast cultural heritage. They were taught to preserve and protect this wealth. They were also told not to scribble on the walls of their school. STAFF ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME : Staff Enrichment Programme (18 Apr 2015) was held in the Secondary Wing auditorium. The Principal Mrs. Nikita Tomar Mann addressed the meet and welcomed the new members. She encouraged the teachers to enhance their performance, upgrade their skills & adhere to the dos & don'ts of NCS system. INTRODUCTION OF RED COLOUR: Red colour was introduced (20 Apr 2015) to LKG during morning assembly. The teachers were dressed in red and red coloured objects were displayed. Colour rhyme was sung to emphasize the colour concept. GROUP ACTIVITY UKG: Colour and Shapes activity (21 Apr 15) was conducted in UKG classes. It was a structured activity in which children were made to prepare a collage by sticking the cut out of shapes of various colour on a chart paper. INTRODUCTION OF GREEN COLOUR: Green colour was introduced (22 Apr 2015) to LKG during morning assembly. The teachers were dressed in green and green coloured objects were displayed. Colour rhyme was sung to emphasize the colour concept. A story was told to make the activity interesting. GROUP ACTIVITY LKG:

� OPENING DAY :

Paper Tearing activity (22 Apr 2015) was conducted in LKG classes. It was a

structured activity in which children were made to paste the torn paper inside the

apple made on a chart paper.

� WORLD EARTH DAY:

World Earth Day (22 Apr 2015) was celebrated in the LKG and UKG

assembly. The children were told about our planet Earth with the aid of charts,

pictures and a globe. The children were taught how to reduce pollution and

contribute towards making the planet clean and green. The points emphasized were

to plant more trees, to avoid plastics and not to litter around. The three R's were

explained i.e. Reduce, Reuse & Recycle.

� ORIENTATION PROGRAMME:

Orientation Programme & Special PTI (DH KG – 23 Apr 2015 and NSB KG -

24 Apr 2015) was organized for awareness of the parents about their wards school,

its functioning and its rules and regulations. The points highlighted were aim, goal,

activities, academics and various other aspects of the school and the KG

Programme. A special PTI was conducted towards end of the Orientation to answer

parent’s queries and seek their suggestions to make the learning experience of their

child a unique one.

� INTRODUCTION OF BLUE COLOUR:

Blue colour was introduced (27 Apr 2015) to LKG during morning assembly.

The teachers were dressed in blue and blue coloured objects were displayed. Colour

rhyme was sung to emphasize the colour concept.

� INTRODUCTION OF YELLOW COLOUR:

Yellow colour was introduced (29 Apr 2015) to LKG during morning assembly.

The teachers were dressed in yellow and yellow coloured objects were displayed.

Colour rhyme was sung to emphasize the colour concept.

� GROUP ACTIVITY LKG:

Paper Crushing activity (29 Apr 2015) was conducted in LKG classes. It was

a structured activity in which children were made to paste the crushed paper inside

the ball made on a chart paper.

� MAY DAY:

May Day was celebrated on 1st May, 2015. The children were taught about

helpers like ammas and babus of the school who help us by keeping our school

clean and assist us in our day to day activities.
