Training Schedule:

Scope of the Online CourseLearning Objectives: The course is structured around a general curriculum with the aim being to furnish the trainees with

a broad understanding of the EIVA NaviSuite online software solutions and make them confident in using the software on

a vessel. To enhance this, typical construction support and acquisition scenarios are used as examples throughout the

training. For the most part, the course is conducted as hands-on training, thus taking advantage of the comprehensive

simulation functionalities that have been implemented into the NaviPac and NaviScan software solutions.

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

Install the relevant NaviSuite software packages.

Understand the basic architecture of NaviPac & NaviScan.

Configure NaviPac & NaviScan with common instruments, geodesy, objects etc.

Run various programs for different tasks (calibration, documentation, QA).

Log survey data for different tasks and in different formats.

Start, configure and use the Helmsman’s Display program.

Create and manipulate waypoints and runlines.

Use different map background formats.

Control the logging process from the Helmsman’s Display.

Start and configure the Online3D utility.

Conduct simple editing of multibeam data in a NaviEdit/NaviModel environment.

Conduct a Patch Test calibration in NaviModel/NaviEdit.

Target Group: The course is aimed towards surveyors who have some experience with offshore survey work and basic

knowledge of hydrographic surveying.

Entry Level: No prior knowledge of the EIVA software solutions is required. The language of instruction is English.

Duration: The duration of the course is 5 days, from 9 A.M. to 4 P.M., including breaks.

Completion: Upon completion, a dedicated EIVA Training Certificate will be issued.

Users are also given the opportunity to

submit a question that will then be

upgraded and included in the

knowledgebase.

Training & Documentation SiteThe Training & Documentation site

contains all documentation and training

material associated with the EIVA Soft-

and Hardware. It should therefore be

installed whenever installing the EIVA

software (is not a requirement for the

proper functioning of the associated

software.

The documentation includes all on-line

help, manuals, powerpoints, reports,

papers, training documents available for

the EIVA software packages as well as

for the EIVA hardware.

The site is designed to be executed in

off-line mode (with no connection to the

Internet), however some of the items

will only provide optimum functionality if

an Internet connection has been

established. Observe that the site can

Patch Testing – in NaviModel/Online3DPatch Testing can be performed in NaviModel and in the Online3D application. In the latter case, nodongle is required.

A multibeam Patch Test calibration serves a dual purpose:

a. To determine the mount angles of the multibeam transducer

relative to the three axes of the local coordinate system of the

vessel/ROV. These three figures are often referred to as the roll-,

pitch- and heading mount angles.

b. To confirm the relationship between the time-tagging on the

multibeam data and the time-tagging on the position data. This

figure is often referred to as the latency or as the time value.
