the time when he can see the beauty of nature in Jamaica.

times of the year.• During sunny days-the “gold sun shines”

and we can see the lush magnificent “green cane fields”

• During rainy days-the rain pours heavily like “bullets on the roofs” and we can hear the “swish of the gullies” (street drains).

• During windy days – we can see trees wildly struggling in the “high Jamaica winds”.

• The best time for the poet is during harvest time when “beauty comes suddenly” and everything comes alive.

• The crops are ripe and ready for picking. There is activity all around.

• The “mango” and “logwood” blossom, the buttercups cover the whole landscape like “yellow stars”.

• The bees are busy buzzing around the bushes collecting honey.

• Man can never control the forces of nature.

• Man cannot choose or determine the course of nature.

• The change in weather is a natural occurrence which man has no power to control it.

• We must appreciate and conserve nature for future generation.

• Once nature is destroyed, it can never be replaced.

• Its destruction also causes habitat and precious wildlife to be lost.

• We must learn to do our part in preserving and conserving the earth.

• Life is just like the unpredictable weather in Jamaica.

• The weather sometimes is “bright and sunny” and at other times “it rains heavily”.

• Life can be hard but we must never give up hope.

• Perseverance helps us to become more stronger and wiser to face any circumstances in life.

• Nature can bring both joy and sorrow to us.

• Life also sometimes can be joyful and at other times sorrowful.

• We must learn to accept this fact and be resilient and strong so that we can face life’s challenges.
