A natural disaster is the effect of the earth's natural hazards, for example flood, earthquake or landslide.

They can lead to financial, environmental or human losses. The resulting loss depends on the vulnerability of the affected population to resist the hazard.

If these disasters continue it would be a great danger for the earth.

Forest Fire or Bushfire

Fires can burn out of control in areas of forest or bush land. Fires are caused by lightning, sparks of electricity or careless people. Wind may blow a bushfire to areas where people live.

16 june 2013 : Flood in uttrakhand (kedarnath region ) 12 Jan 2010 : Earthquake that hit Haiti's capital city Port

au Prince, effected more than 3 million people. 26 Dec 2004 :  Tsunami hit Sumatra coast in the Indian

ocean. Almost 250,000 died, produced by an underwater earthquake with a power of 9.1 on the Richter's scale.

August 2005 : Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans and the Gulf of Mexico. Sixth strongest and fifth most destroyable hurricane killed 1800 people and completely erased New Orleans from the map.

8 Oct 2005 : An earthquake located near the India-Pakistan border took 86.000 lives. It destroyed 600.000 homes and made 3 million people homeless.

12 May 2008 : An earthquake with 7.9 Magnitude killed 69.000 people in Sichuan Province in China. The earthquake made damage estimated 85 billion dollars.

Natural disasters are not incapable of being guarded against. The modern technology has given enough gadgets to people for forecasting, and lessening heavy damages. Only requirement is that people must take interest in getting awareness about the safeguard measures. It is also important to see that we do not contribute to natural disasters by polluting the environment and by not living in resonance with nature.
