ABOUT NATSIHWAThe National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker Association (NATSIHWA) is the professional association for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioners in Australia.

It was established in 2009 following the Australian Government’s announcement of funding to strengthen Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers as part of its ‘Closing the Gap’ initiatives. The creation of NATSIHWA is an important step in recognising the vital role that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers play in providing professional, effective and culturally respectful health services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families and communities across Australia.

Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Workers are employed across the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health, Government, and private health sectors, working to achieve better health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

NATSIHWA VISIONA strong, credible and viable National Association that is widely recognised for its cultural and professional integrity, and commitment to advocate for and support both current and future generations of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Workers.

Cancellation PolicyIn exceptional circumstances NATSIHWA will be prepared to consider the cancellation of the contract with sponsors if:• The reason for the cancellation is, in the opinion of NATSIHWA, well founded.• The request is submitted in writing.• That sponsorship is able to be re-sold.• The sponsor cancels: - 3 months before the conference NATSIHWA will retain 10% of the contract price

- 2 months before the conference NATSIHWA will retain 50% of the contract price - 1 month before the conference NATSIHWA will retain 100% of the contract price.
