It is a wonderful time of year; a time to reminisce about your Christmas memories from growing up, about your family’s traditions, and favorite foods (especially cookies). Care Coordinator’s Corner ~ Donna Conklin

The nurses station now has a swipe entry access for the staff. The door will automatically lock when closed.

*Reminders*

* Push your PHB when there is an emergency. The alert that the staff receives gives your location. If another resident needs help and you are nearby push your PHB because it will give us the location where help is needed. For all other questions and requests, you should call nursing on the phone.

*Flu season has begun. Handwashing is the #1 way to prevent the spread of infection.

*Don’t forget to sign out when you leave the building.

*If you will be out for an extended period of time, let nursing know so that we can order your medications to take with you.

I wish you all a healthy, Merry Christmas!

Walking in the way of God’s heart This is real love. It is not that we loved God, but that he loved us

and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. 1 John 4:11

Advent 2016 celebrates the arrival of Jesus Christ, the embodiment of God’s heart. The Advent theme this year invites us to walk in the way of God’s heart as we journey along the path of our own lives right now.

On Sunday mornings, we’ll celebrate Advent together. And our weekly Music Chapels will include lots of favorite Christmas carols. In addition, we’ll also gather weekly for Advent Stories around the Christmas Tree. Please let me know if you have a favorite story you’d like to have read – I’d be delighted to include it!

On Saturday, 12/24, I’ll lead a Christmas Eve service in the morning. On Sunday, 12/25, Pastor Ray Hurst will hold a Christmas Day service (with communion) at the regular time.

As members of the Dock Meadows community, let’s also remember that many of us may be experiencing a wide range of emotions during the holidays – including sadness as we remember loved ones who have passed, as well as joy and gratitude for all beloved friends and family members. With that in mind, may we draw close to God’s heart and walk in God’s way by extending thoughtfulness and tender care to one another. In that way, may the comfort, peace and joy of Christ be with us all. ~ Pastor Leslie
