SAFEGUARD THE CHILDREN Did You Know? Recently, abuse against women has been thrust into the public spotlight, with the “Me Too” movement. It is important for parents/caregivers be aware of risks to girls and risks to boys. Boys and girls both need to be educated on what’s acceptable and what’s inappropriate, and how to react if someone does something that crosses the line. It is important for adults to reinforce the message that we must all look for, identify, and call attention to the risky behavior exhibited by any adult toward any child. HOLY HUMOR Sister Patricia, a popular motivational speaker, was invited to preach a mission on "the parish as a welcoming community." When she arrived at the airport, no one was there to meet her. OH, BROTHER! Belly Laughs for Good-Humored Catholics by Brother Loughlan Sofield, ST published by ACTA Publications

STEWARDSHIP COMMITTEE It is with a profound sense of accomplishment that the Stewardship Committee announces the goal of $100,000.00 in parishioner donations has been met. We truly appreciate the anonymous donor from our Parish with their contribution of $100,000.00 who inspired us to come together in raising the matching amount of $100,000.00.

We owe a huge debt of gratitude to people like Sandy Komine, who single-handedly orchestrated the first fundraiser of commemorative bricks in front of the Parish Hall and was the force behind the Christmas Auction, David Zanatta and Mike Burch who donated proceeds from the Parish Festival, Espi Garcia who kept the financial books and spent countless hours in the church parking lot soliciting for our other fundraisers. Kudos to Dr. Annette Sy and husband, Dr. Ben Sy for their support, Debbie LaLonde for her hours of volunteerism and an exceptionally generous donation to the cause and Michelle Smithson for her efforts. To Jerry Caligiuri, may he rest in peace, for his help with the Christmas play. And to all members of Stewardship Committee for their help and to all the parishioners who donated time and money, also with a generous donation from the Knights of Columbus, the campaign for raising $100,000.00 as a matching fund has been over.

Lastly, to Father Antony who provided inspiration to the committee and helped us focus on the good that will come from our dedication.

“There is a light in this world, a healing spirit more powerful than any darkness we may encounter. We sometimes lose sight of this force when there is so much suffering and pain. Then suddenly, the spirit will emerge through the lives of ordinary people who hear a call and answer in extra ordinary ways”

    --Mother Teresa
