NM TRIBAL WI-FI HOTSPOT PROGRAM

NAVA Education Project in partnership with SFIS & ITDRC want to provide Tribalcommunities with FREE Wi-Fi Hotspots to extend existing networks to a widerrange to allow more community members to access the internet.

INCREASED ACCESS BENEFITS COMMUNITY TRIBE & MEMBERS

❖ CENSUS – respond easily online to ensure a complete and accurate count❖ Absentee Ballot registration, Tele-education, language programs, SNAP❖ Contactless Tele-health, small business, unemployment, support services

Census Bureau Updates

• Northern Pueblo & Jicarilla Apache – Kenny Pin, TPS

• Nambe – 2 Census workers hire

• Ohkay Owingeh – Opening June 15

• Tesuque – Open but no date for UL

• Taos – New CB supervisor, Cameron Martinez

• Jicarilla Apache – Closed through July 26

• New COVID 19 Cases identified

• Southern Pueblos, Amber Carrillo, TPS

• Isleta – UL begins 6/15

• Zuni – 13 tribal members hired, date to be set

• Mescalero Apache

• No report

• Navajo, Arbin Mitchell (by email)

• CCC Team attending Navajo Virtual Town Hall meeting today

• UL resumed June 11 – through July 9

• Tribal Update Leave Schedule (attached) - As of June 12

• Message to Tribal Leaders

• Census packages will be dropped off at each home

• Census worker(s) will not have contact with people in home

• Masks and hand sanitizer provided to each employee

• If request for gloves is made, CB will provide

• Virtual Phone banking

• Tribal Partnership Specialists will update all as UL dates are scheduled

• TPS supports phone banks

• Conduct after Census packets are dropped

• Gives people time to review packet, discuss with people in the home, and respond

• They will share same message with their colleagues

• Tribal Partnership Specialists now allowed to travel

• Available to assist with deliveries

• Have water bottles, bags and other promotional items
