Indian Society of Lighting Engineers (ISLE) is a professional body in the field of illumination engineering with a broad based membership of scien-tists, engineers, architects, academicians, researchers and designers. ISLE is affiliated to CIE, the International Commission on illumination. ISLE is closely associated with the bureau of Indian Standards, the De-partment of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Power and the Minis-try of Non conventional Energy Sources.
INDIAN SOCIETY OF TECHNICAL EDUCATION
The Indian Society for Technical Education is a national, professional, non-profit making Society registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. First started in 1941 as the Association of Principals of Technical Institutions (APTI), it was converted into "Indian Society for Technical Education" in 1968 with a view to enlarge its activities to advance the cause of technical education. The main goal is to serve as a common agency for stimulating and guiding its members to formulate the general goals and responsibilities of technical education for the service of mankind and the advancement of general welfare. BOARDING & LODGING
The registration fees include workshop kit, tea snacks and lunch. Partici-pants from academia, industries and other institutions will have to bear the expenses towards travel, accommodation and boarding. Limited accom-modation on payment basis will be available on first come first serve ba-sis. Candidates should indicate the requirement of accommodation before
the commencement of workshop. The charges for lodging & boarding are Rs. 300/- Per day.

post / fax / e-mail should reach the University on or before 15.07.2016.
The registration of the participants would be confirmed on “First-come first
serve” basis as the number of seats are limited.
INTIMATION OF SELECTION Candidates will be intimated about their selection by E-mail.
WORKSHOP METHODOLOGY
The Workshop will be conducted by the resource persons from higher aca-
demic Institutions through a blend of lectures including demonstrations
and tutorials on various health care applications using biomedical signals
and images. The participants shall be required to have knowledge and skill
in basic programming. Hands on practice sessions will also be conducted.
Certificate will be issued to the participants at the end of the workshop.
Increasing health issues and short fall of expertise available is demanding need for auto and remote health monitoring of critically ill and elderly people. With the advancements of bio-medical sensors and technologies, research in processing sensory signals and an early prediction of life critical disease has bridged the gap between medical expertise and disease cure to a larger extent. Quantitative and objective analysis facilitated by computational intelligence in Biomedical Signal Processing leads to a more reliable, accurate and early diag-nostic decision. The workshop will include the distinguished speakers having expertise in the biomedical and signal proc-essing from different parts of India, where in they will share the research techniques in this field and the probable issues to be addressed in upcoming times. This will also include il-lustration of research works in health related issues using dif-ferent biomedical signals and images.
The objectives of the workshop are to expose the

The fundamentals of Bio-signals, Medical Imaging and their acquisition
Time and frequency domain analysis of Bio-medical sig-nals and images
Implementing different algorithms for enhancement, compression, segmentation, of various medical images
Microwave Imaging & its Biomedical Applications.
Hands-on experience for implementation of concepts related to health care applications
Bachelor’s, Master’s & Doctoral scholars and the faculty members of Electrical, Electronics & Communication and Computer Engineering are eligible to attend the workshop.

Dr. Arvind Shaligram is presently Professor and Head, Department of Elec-tronic Science at University of Pune. He has a professional experience of more than 35 years. His areas of research interest are Embedded systems and VLSI design, Nanoelectronics, Optolectronic sensors and systems, LED Lighting sys-tems performance and reliability and Wireless Sensor Networks. He has on his credit 29 books, laboratory manuals, 492 research papers with 406 Cita-tions, 41 Invited talks. He has guided 30 students for Ph.D. and 18 students for M. Phil. He has completed 22 research projects funded by various Government funding agencies in India, including DOE, UGC, DIT, DAE, CSIR, DST, DRDO and ISRO as Principal or co-investigator.
Dr. Nadir Charniya is currently working as a Professor Department of Elec-tronics and Telecommunications Engineering, Vivekanand Education Society’s Institute of Technology, Chembur, Mumbai. He received the M.E. (Electronics) from Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute, Mumbai, and the Ph.D. in Design of Intelligent Sensors using a Neural Network approach. He has about 26 years of teaching experience. His Ph.D. work on Intelligent Sensors received the First Prize in the Maharashtra State Research Project Competition “AVISHKAR—2008.” His UG project on robotics received First Prize and the “Maharashtra State Engineering Design Award” from the ISTE, India.
Dr. Abhay Gaikawad is presently working as Professor in Electronics Engineer-ing at Babasaheb Naik College of Engineering Pusad, Yavatmal District in Ma-harashtra. He did his doctoral degree from IIT Roorkee in 2012. He has more than 21 years of experience in teaching and research. His areas of interest are microwave imaging and its applications. He has received Young Scientist award in Second Rashtriya Yuva Vaigyanik Sammelan -2010, Uttarakhand, In-dia.
Dr. Rajesh B. Ghongade is presently working as Professor in Department of Electronics and Telecommunication from Pune University, Pune. He did his Bachelore’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Electronics & Telecommunica-tion from Pune University, Pune. His areas of interest are Artificial Neural network, Pattern Classification, Biomedical Signal Processing, Electronic Circuit Design, PCB Artwork Design. He has more than 21 years of experience in teaching and research.
Dr. Prashant Bansod is presently working as Professor & Head, Department of Biomedical Engineering at SGSITS, Indore. He did his doctoral degree in Bio-sciences & Bioengineering, from IIT Bombay, Master’s in Electronics from VRCE, Nagpur and Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Instrumentation from DAVV Indore. He has total experience of more than 26 years as teacher, re-searcher and administrator. His areas of research are Medical signal and image processing, sensors & Instrumentation.
Mr. Sunil M. Agrawal is presently working as Associate Professor and Head of Electrical Engineering department at Babasaheb Naik College of Engineering Pusad, Yavatmal, MS. He has more than 28 years of experience in teaching & research. His areas of research are Digital Signal Processing, Digital Image Processing, Control System and Soft Computing. He has published 19 re-search papers in National/ International Journals and Conferences.
