Initiation

What is the idea?

Is the idea feasible?

Who is going to execute the project?

What type of project is it? (Fundraiser, PR Event, Service, etc)

What are the goals, expectations or anticipated results?



Definition Set the requirements for the results

Decide who is responsible for each requirement

Types of requirements

Preconditions: Any rules and regulations affecting the project

Functional: Determines the quality of the product

Operational: Dictates the use of the result or product

Design Limitations: Elements the involve the realization of the project



Design

Decide the “How?”

Assign tasks

Gather and evaluate the resources

Make sure that you are still on task and supporting the original goal



Implement

Go! Be! Do!

Execute the plan as written

Remember to be flexible…everything cannot be planned, unexpected things happen

Remember to stay on task…if circumstances dictate too much change, go back to the beginning of the process



EvaluateMeet with your team and debrief about the project

Did it further the mission of NUL, NULYP and/or the Affiliate?

Did things go wrong? Did things go well?

Find out what went wrong…develop a plan to fix it.

Did you achieve the intended results at the desired quality?

How do you know?

Did you stick to the plan?

What lessons were learned? Suggestions? Solutions?
