The Course Detailed

The following information describes all turns that are required to be taken in the course. It also explains potential

hazards.

Turn 1 First Roundabout approx. 0.3 miles Riders to take 3 exit See Figure 1

Turn2 Second roundabout approx. 0.9 miles Take first exit onto A78 dual carriageway See Figure 1

HAZARD Take care entering A78 as approaching traffic are travelling at speeds up to 70mph.

Turn 3 Third roundabout approx. 1.2 miles Take Second exit, straight through roundabout See Figure 2

Ones to Watch

Returning champions Sandy Wallace will no doubt be the favourites to take another title for 2013, however they

will again have strong competition from a strengthened Paisley Velo team and a formidable Dooleys A team.

There are also several (dark horses) teams that could pose threats to the podium so the medals will by no means

be given easily to the last three teams to leave the start ramp.

There will also be some local rivalry this year between Fullarton Wheelers and Ayr Roads CC looking to take the

renowned Ayrshire TTT crown.

Notes1. Start location can be tricky to find sign on signage will be used within a one mile radius of start location.

This will allow people using a GPS navigation tool to get to within the signage range.

2. For riders own safety it is strongly suggested that rear lights be used in the event that the visibilityis poor.

3. We are using the GSK social club for the first time, and we hope to use this event in the future, I wouldtherefore ask that the facilities be treated with respect.

Technical MattersFollowing Cars

Each team may have a following service vehicle subject to the following conditions

The following car must be nominated by the team to the Chief Commissaire (send details to

[email protected] Friday, 23rd August). Required information:

Driver name and BC membership Number

Car make and model

Confirmation that you can supply car signage or if this needs to be supplied.

The car will carry at least two people the driver and one person to carry out such servicing as may be

necessary.

The car will follow the team at least twenty metres behind the last rider and all servicing must be carried

out from the rear.

The maximum height of team vehicles is 1.6m, that is no 3x4s, mini vans or larger for safety reasons.

If a team is caught, any following vehicle of the caught team has to pull in or get out of the way beforetaking up position again.

There will be a small number of car tops available for following cars. Clubs are asked to supply their own

if they have such a thing in their club kit or have some signage on their car indicating that they are a

CYCLE EVENT FOLLOWING CAR.

Commissaire points

The Chief Commissaire has requested the following:

There should be no feeding from the team cars.

Any Junior riders will have gears checked before and after the event.

Riders are reminded that the course is on a dual carriagewayso care and attention at all times,

especially if cars have to stop for service.

In past observers have been required to be in all following cars but this is difficult to manage. There will

be observers throughout the course and in some of the cars.

RefreshmentsThere will be a selection of sandwiches and cakes as well as cold and hot drinks available during the event. All

food is provided free but a donation is welcome.

MarshallingMarshals will be allocated to the following areas of the course.
