Fast Facts USA Wrestling’s National Development Team at the US Olympic Training Center

United States Olympic Committee (USOC) is governed under the Ted Stevens Olympic and Amateur Sports Act,

• As a NOC, the Committee supports American athletes in general and Olympic & Junior athletes in specific.

• The USOC operates Olympic Training Centers at which aspiring Olympians prepare for international competition:The main facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado

• It receives no financial assistance from the U.S. government. As a non-profit organization, the USOC is wholly dependent on private contributions and corporate sponsorship

• The USOC is the only National Olympic Committee in the world that is not government funded

• The U. S. Freestyle Wrestling Team finished 3rd in the World championships and 2012 Olympics Games, just one victory from winning the overall team title both years.

• The USA Wrestling has only won one Junior & one Cadet World Championships Pat Downey & Zain Retherford

• In 2011, The USOC & USA Wrestling launched the National Development Team at the US Olympic Training Center.
