FOOD Living in Taipei Taipei City map The Taipei City Government maintains a convenient online service which allows viewers to locate addresses, government offices, and businesses throughout Taipei. 3. SHOPPING

Wu-Fen-Pu $$ To today's Taipei residents the place name is synonymous with a renowned

wholesalers' district stuffed to the brim with quality inexpensive clothing and related

adornments -- and stuffed with happy bargain-hunters most every day. It is now rightfully

gaining recognition on the tourist map as well. If you want to shop for clothes in Taipei,

you definitely can’t miss here. Clothes here are imported from Hong Kong, Korea and

Thailand and many other countries. There are almost 1000 clothes shops here, providing

wholesale and retail fashion clothes at a lower price. Many visitors are attracted to shop

for less here. This place is great for the latest trends and it won’t burn a hole in your

wallet.

Transportation: Take the MRT by Ban Nan Route to Ho Shan Pi Station (Exit 1)

Gong Guan Shopping Area $$$ Located nearly beside NTNU, Gong Guan is a convenient and popular place for

people, mostly students, to go shopping. There are lots of unique stores where you can

find trendy and fair-prized clothes along the street. The prize of the clothes here are

always not so high because most of the costumers are students.

Transportation: Take the MRT by ShinDian Route to Gong Guan Station.

Ximending Shopping Area $$$

Ximending is one of the most popular tourist spots among locals and visitors from

all over the world. Ximending features a wide array of fashion clothing and accessories in

various styles including Japanese, Chinese and Western. It is similar to Shibuya in Japan,

both are famed for a diversity of entertainments and activities that allure young people

and young adults to visit. It is often a gathering site for young people and has always

been considered the most fashionable and popular shopping place in Taiwan.

Transportation: Take the MRT by Ximen Route or BanNan Route to Ximen Station.

XinYi Shopping Area $$$$$ The Xinyi area is home not only to Taipei's financial district but also to Taipei 101,

Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Department Store, Vieshow Cinemas, and Eslite Bookstore, among

other places catering to your every shopping, dining, entertainment and literary whim.

The malls here are so closely spaced together that you can conveniently get from Taipei

101 to Shin Kong Mitsukoshi via sky bridge links. You can find a lot of decent and

fashionable clothes here and most of them are from famous brands. If you want

everybody to view you as a high-classed person, then you should really take a look of

here. By the way, don’t forget to go with your pocket filled, because the cost of being

high-class must take A LOT.

Market, Flower/Jade Market(open weekends only), Da-an Park or CKS Memorial Hall.

Long-Shan Temple and Shih-Lin Night Market are also popular among tourists. However,

it may take a whole morning, afternoon or night to enjoy the trip.
