The program includes works by Gustav Holst (1874-1934), Ralph Vaughan-Williams (1872-1958), Isaac Albeniz (1860-1909), Emmanuel Chabrier (1841-1894) and Georges Bizet (1838-1875). The concert is included with normal paid admission to the site. The Heritage Brass was formed for the 1990 Christmas Revels in Hanover, N.H. and continued to perform with the Revels most years since. The quintet also performs at concerts, college commencements, and celebrations of all kinds. In their programs they explore music from the renaissance through the American brass band and jazz eras. Dan Farina, trumpet, a graduate of Shenandoah College and Conservatory, has been a free-lance player and soloist since 1982. He has played with the Maryland Symphony, the New Hampshire Philharmonic, the Monadnock Orchestra, the Dartmouth symphony and many others. Currently he is principal trumpet with the NH Philharmonic Orchestra and Keene Chorale. Jim Boccia, is a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music, in Boston, where he received degrees in Trumpet Performance and Music Education, he later earned an MALS at Stony Brook University. Heritage Brass to Perform at Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site

Cornish, NH – On Sunday, July 17, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., the Heritage Brass will perform at Saint-Gaudens

Lydia Busler-Blais, horn, is widely acclaimed as a new genre of improvisatory artist and composer. She began

a professional career when she performed with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at age 16. Lydia has performed

with the New York City Ballet, the Brooklyn Philharmonic, numerous New York chamber ensembles, and is

Solo Horn with the Rome Festival Opera. She teaches and coaches chamber music. Robert Booth, trombone,

of Barre, Vermont, has a degree in music education and teaches music at Spaulding High School in Barre. He

has played with a variety of bands and ensembles. Robert Eliason, tuba, is a graduate of the University of

Michigan and the Manhattan School of Music. His experience includes performing with the 7th Army

Symphony Orchestra, the Henry Mancini Orchestra, the Dartmouth Symphony Orchestra and 10 years as

principal tubaist with the Kansas City Philharmonic.

This is the third of eight concerts in the 2011 Saint-Gaudens Summer Concert Series sponsored annually

by the Saint-Gaudens Memorial Trustees. The series continues through August 21, with performances in the

Little Studio each Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Concerts are included with normal paid admission to the site.

Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site is located off NH Route 12A, just north of the Cornish-Windsor

covered bridge. The park is open daily through October 31, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission to the site is

$5.00 per person; children 15 and under are admitted free of charge. As a Federal Fee Area, Federal America

the Beautiful Annal, Senior and Access passes are honored. A Saint-Gaudens NHS annual pass is also available
