Important Notices

1. Galvalume™ should not be used on Animal Confinement Buildings.2. Due to the galvanizing process, the appearance of the spangles may vary considerably from onecoil to another; this does not affect the quality of the zinc coatings.3. Due to pacification, Galvalume™ may darken in appearance as it weathers. This does not affectthe life-expectancy of the material.4. Galvanized steel must be stored in a dry place and in such a manner as to allow air circulationbetween the sheets in order to avoid condensation. Wet sheets must be separated and allowed todry to avoid white rust or blackening, caused by moisture and sometimes atmospheric elementstrapped between bundled sheets. The moisture can be caused by rain, snow or condensationcreated by changing temperatures. Vicwest cannot control these conditions, and therefore cannotbe responsible for the resulting problem / warranty claim. In order to minimize and attempt toeliminate the problem we recommend the following precautions;a) Always unload in dry weather or keep the material covered while unloading in to a dry wellventilated building.b) Inspect shipment immediately. If sheets are already wet, sign the freight bill accordinglyand file a claim with the carrier.c) If sheets must be stored outside, keep them up off the ground with one end elevated fordrainage, and cover with a waterproof canvas, leaving the bottom open for ventilation.d) If sheets should get wet, break the bundles and separate the sheets. If space is a problem,stand the sheets on end, strapped at the top and fanned out at the bottom for both drainageand ventilation.5. Due to the roll forming process sheets may be slippery due to excess lubrication, care shouldalways be taken when handling the sheets ensure proper safety equipment is worn.6. Vicwest recommends the use of a TurboShear power shear for cutting steel. If you wish to use asaw, the following precautions must be taken;a) Use a high-speed abrasive saw in good condition or metal cutting blade.b) Cut sheets away from bundles and installed material so that hot filings do not damagepainted surfaces.c) Use shears to remove burrs from sheets, particularly where they have been cut at an angle.d) Pre-painted material must be sawed on the opposite side. (pre-painted side to the floor)

General Roofing Installation RecommendationsDo not screw top sheet of roofing until the ridge cap is applied- then screw through both the ridgecap AND the sheet at the high part of the rib. At gable end, extend sheets approximately 1” beyondgable fascia and soffit. Overlap sheet ends by at least 6”- lay sheets one by one from eave to ridgebefore starting new row.

Fastening GuidelinesDo not secure all fasteners on panel until sheet has been laid and squared, to ensure an evenapplication of all sheets. Over-torquing of fasteners can cause distortion of roofing profiles and thusmake proper overlapping impossible- under-torquing of fasteners can cause leaks and undue wearon the sheet steel. Do not fasten open side rib before starting new row. Fastener must secureboth underlap and over-lap ribs in one operation. It is also advisable to pre-drill the metal sheetsprior to fastening for both roof and wall applications.

High Wind PercautionsStart roof application at end of roof farthest from prevailing winds and overlap next rows ofsheeting over those already applied. Extend ends of roof sheets approximately 1” past finishedsidewall fascia and soffit. Roof purlin spacing varies with the gauge of the metal, profiles of roofingused, snowloads and pitch of roof. It is important that the installer make himself aware of all criteriapertaining to the installation of a Vicwest roofing system and verify these criterias with the localBuilding Inspector.

Estimating TipAs a general rule for estimating purposes, a minimum of 85 neoprene washer head screws aresufficient for the application of one square (100 square feet) of a Vicwest roof.

PALRUF Corrugation Pro�le - Standard Available Dimensions

TRANSPORTATION, HANDLING AND STORAGE: Do not transport, leave or store panels in direct sun before or during installation. For outdoor storage, cover securely with a colored tarpaulin to avoid solar heat gain between the panels. Sunlight is magnified when passing through uncovered sheets increasing the temperature of the sheets which leads to degradation and distortion. Penetration of water between the sheets in storage will accentuate this heat gain. Therefore it is recommended to store the panels indoors. Panels will withstand heat when properly installed and ventilated. Store the panels stacked evenly on a horizontal flat surface with longer lengths on the bottom. Do not stack other items on top of panels. If panels are not stacked directly on floor, be sure to support evenly.

IMPORTANT: panels have been stored at temperatures below 40° F; allow panels to acclimate to room temperature before cutting.

TRANSPORTATION, HANDLING AND STORAGE: Do not transport, leave or store panels in direct sun before or during installation. For outdoor storage, cover securely with a colored tarpaulin to avoid solar heat gain between the panels. Sunlight is magnified when passing through uncovered sheets increasing the temperature of the sheets which leads to degradation and distortion. Penetration of water between the sheets in storage will accentuate this heat gain. Therefore it is recommended to store the panels indoors. Panels will withstand heat when properly installed and ventilated. Store the panels stacked evenly on a horizontal flat surface with longer lengths on the bottom. Do not stack other items on top of panels. If panels are not stacked directly on floor, be sure to support evenly.

IMPORTANT: panels have been stored at temperatures below 40° F; allow panels to acclimate to room temperature before cutting.

Installation Tips & Hints#1 Screws must be loose enough to allow sheet to move. Drill sheet and back board or stud proper size for rivet;

then re-drill sheet hole 1/8” larger to allow for expansion and contraction#2 Sheets should be installed at normal ambient termperatures to allow for expansion and contraction.#3 Fasten 12” on centres#4 Never fasten directly to drywall or paneling. This material is not strong enough to support the PLASTI-VIC due

to thermal expansion or contraction. Look for and fasten to the stud supporting the drywall#5 If using a sealant always use rivets or screws on sheets 1/4” or less#6 Recommended sealant is SICA 11FC#7 Surface of sheet to be glued must be lightly torched to remove surface oils prior to application of adhesive.

Vicwest’s 650 lbs. capacity round track will provide years of smooth, easy gliding operation. The self- cleaning design and corrosion-resistant 14 ga. galvanized construction features are available in 3 track styles:1) slotted with a full keyway2) factory-mounted brackets for top mountingSlots or brackets are positioned on the track 12” from the end at 24” centres. In addition to offering track sections with factory- mounted brackets; the slot mounted track has been engineered to give the keyway slots two-way movement options, allowing for easy “knock-on” application in the field. Knock all the brackets in the same direc-tion (left or right) except the last bracket, where the direction is reversed to make a positive lock.
