PRESENTING SPONSOR OF 2016 CONFERENCE:
NATIONAL BICYCLETOURISM CONFERENCE 2016
ST. PETE BEACH, FLORIDANOVEMBER 2-5, 2016
WelcomeI would like to welcome everyone to sunny St. Pete Beach, Florida and the 2016 National Bicycle Tourism Conference! The Bicycle Tour Network has been organizing this conference for the past 27 years and I believe this year is shaping up to be one of the best!
The purpose of this conference is to bring together professionals that coordinate bicycle events and festivals, bicycle tour operators, tourism officials and destination marketers, and advocates and enthusiasts to discuss best practices and the latest trends, while providing networking opportunities.
When the conference was first held, the purpose was to bring together just multi-day bicycle tour event directors to share knowledge and help others who had an interest in starting events. That focus remains today, but the Bicycle Tour Network has broadened the scope to include single day and weekend recreational bicycle events and festivals, tour operators and travel and tourism officials that highlight their cycling opportunities.
The 2016 National Bicycle Tourism Conference will also include a vast array of workshops and seminars, boasting high profile speakers and special guests. The fun evening socials will give attendees the opportunities to meet and network with other event and tourism professionals affiliated with the bicycle tourism industry.
I would like to acknowledge and thank all of our sponsors, and especially recognize our presenting sponsor, PeopleForBikes. The generous support of our sponsors is what gives us the ability to offer you a quality conference.
I want to give special thanks to Bike Florida for providing support and volunteers to assist at theconference throughout the week. We also thank Michele Lambert at Moxie Event Managementfor her expertise in managing all the logistics that go into planning the conference. Thank you!
Finally, I want to recognize the conference committee and the board of directors for their dedication of many hours this past year, to help make our vision of a complete bicycle tourism conference a reality. You have all done a super job in leading this great organization.
I hope you enjoy the National Bicycle Tourism Conference and your stay in sunny St. Pete Beach, Florida!
Thank you, T.J. Juskiewicz, BTN President & RAGBRAI Director
