Joseph’s coat

Jacob wanted to show the world he loved his sonTo make it clear that Joseph was the special oneSo Jacob bought his son a coatA multi-coloured coat to wear.

Joseph’s coat was elegant the cut was fine,The tasteful style was the ultimate in good design. And this is why it caught the eye;A king would stop and stare,

And when Joseph tried it onHe knew his sheepskin days were gone,Such a dazzling coat of many colours,How he loved his coat of many colours.

In a class above the rest, AhIt even went well with his vest, AhSuch a stunning coat of many colours, AhHow he loved his coat of many colours, AhIt was red and yellow and green and brown and blue.It was red and yellow and green and brown and blue.

Joseph’s brothers weren’t too pleased with what theySaw.They had never liked him all that much before,And now this coat had got their goat,They felt life was unfair.

And when Joseph graced the sceneHis brothers turned a shade of green. His astounding clothing took the biscuit,Quite the smoothest person in the district.

He looked handsome, he looked smart. He was a walking work of art.Such a dazzling coat of many colours,How he loved his coat of many colours.

Right to survive

There’s a land where the animals roamed wild and freeTo the rhythm of the seasons and in nature’s harmony.Though they did us no harm we just couldn’t let themBe, and they’ll never return when they’ve gone.

chorus They’ve a right to survive, we must help them stay alive. We must all lend a hand, we must save the promisedLand. For the world cannot wait. There’s no time toHesitate. We can’t bury our heads in the sand.

There’s a land where the forest grew thick and greenTo the pattern of the earth and in nature’s colourScheme. Now we chop it away at a million trees a dayAnd the land will turn to sand when they’ve gone.

chorus They’ve a right to survive,. . .

There’s a sea where the whales sang peacefullyTo the rhythm of the ocean and in nature’s harmony. But we couldn’t hear their song, so we didn’t sing alongAnd they’ll never sing again when they’ve gone.

chorus They’ve a right to survive,. . .

There’s a land where the people danced happy and freeTo the rhythm of the earth and in nature’s harmony. Now they’ll never dance again and they’re crying out inPain, for they cannot plant their grain in the sand.

chorus They’ve a right to survive,. . .

Mrs Fizzy

Misses Fizzy keeps so busyAll the day with her aerosol spray.Dust and dirt she’ll squirt it clean away.Tra - la - la - la

Anything that moves will do,Creepy crawlies, spiders too.Get in her way and that’s the end of you.

Fizz fizz here, Fizz fizz there. She doesn’t care about the ozone layer.Misses Fizzy, hear what we say,Throw that spray away.

Misses Fizzy, change your ways.Throw away your aerosol sprays.Make this world a safer place to stay.

Be cool

Be cool, be greenAnd get our world clean.Pollution’s mean, not always seen.

Be cool, be kindGet some peace of mindAnd leave a better world behind

Look here, look thereLet’s all be awareListen to the warning, global warmingBe cool.

The time is hereTo change our idea,And start to clear the atmosphere.

It’s good to meetWhere the air is sweet,Sit back, relax, turn down the heat.

Look here, look there,Let’s all be aware,Listen to the warning, global warming,Be cool, be cool, be cool, be cool.

We share a wonderful world

We share a wonderful world:The coral reefs, the mountain chains,The steaming deltas and the burning sands,The cold and empty arctic plains.

We share a wonderful world:The rising sun, the breaking dawn,The moving waters and the restless winds,The breath of precious life reborn.

But now our world’s in danger:The surging ocean sweeps ashore,The frozen north is melting,The world we knew will be no more.

chorus Who can inspire the children of the world,So full of dreams, so far apart? How can we save the wonders of the world,And hold the dream within our heart,And hold the dream within our heart,

We share a wonderful world:The tawny owl, the bumble bee,The apple blossom and the fragrant rose,The strong and deeply rooted tree.

We share a wonderful world:The cheetah’s eye, the eagle’s wingThe tiny tadpole and the great blue whale,The vast migrations of the Spring.

But now our world’s in danger:The beating wing, the silent pawThe web of life is changing; The world we knew will be no more.

chorus Who can inspire. . .

We share a wonderful world:The greatest depths of human thought,The greatest heights the human mind can reach,The breadth of wisdom we have sought.

We share a wonderful world:A world of pow’r, a world of speed;A world which binds us all with threads of life;A world which serves our every need.

But now our world’s in danger:How can we plan the future now?We want to save these wonders,But who on earth can show us how?

Any dream will do

I closed my eyes, drew back the curtainTo see for certain, what I thought I knewFar far away, someone was weepingBut the world was sleepingAny dream will do.

I wore my coat, I wore my coatWith golden lining AhBright colours shining, AhWonderful and new.

And in the East, And in the EastThe dawn was breaking, AhAnd the world was wakingAny dream will do Ah, Any dream will do

A crash of drums, a flash of light, AhMy golden coat flew out of sight. AhThe colours faded into darkness, I was left alone. The colours faded into darkness, I was left alone

May I return May I returnTo the beginning AhThe light is dimming, AhAnd the dream is too.

The world and IThe world and IWe are still waiting AhStill hesitating AhAny dream will do.Any dream will do.

Give me my coloured coat, my amazing coloured coat.Give me my coloured coat, my amazing coloured coat.Give me my coloured coat, my amazing coloured coat.Give me my coloured coat, my amazing coloured coat.

Believe

When I look up to the stars,There’s a burning deep inside meAnd I feel a power growing in my soul. There is something I can sense,Deep within a dream to guide me,And I know that I am reaching for my goal.

chorus I can do anything at all,I can climb the highest mountain,I can feel the ocean calling wild and free.I can be anything I want,With this hope to drive me onward,If I can just believe in me.

When the skies are dark and grey,We still know the sun is shining:Though it’s out of sight, its light is glowing still. And as long as I believe,There is nothing I can’t wish for;Not a dream that I’m unable to fulfil.

chorus I can. . .

And whatever it takes I’ll find it somehow;Whatever it needs I’ll show I’m strong.Whatever it takes I’ll make it happen:Finding out where I belong.

While the world is spinning round,I can sometimes lose directionAnd I know how hard it is to find my way.But with friends around to care,There is nothing I can’t handle,And I’ll face the future treasuring each day.

chorus I can. . .

World in Union

There’s a dream I feel, so rare so real; All the world in union, the world as one.Gathering together one mind, one heart;Every creed, every colour once joined, never apart.Searching for the best in me,I will find what I can be,If I win, lose or draw, there’s a winner in us all. It’s the world in union, the world as one;As we climb to reach our destiny, a new age has begun.

We face high mountains, must cross rough seas,We must take our place in history and live with dignity.Just to be the best I can,Sets the goal of every man.If I win, lose or draw, it’s a victory for all. It’s the world in union, the world as one;As we climb to reach our destiny,A new age has begun.

It’s the world in union, the world as one;As we climb to reach our destiny,A new. . . age. . . has. . . be. . . gun.It’s the world, the world in unionA new. . . age. . . has. . . be. . . gun.
