3 Main Units

• Unit 1 Cell Biology– cell division, DNA, enzymes,

microorganisms, photosynthesis, respiration, controversial biological procedures

• Unit 2 Multicellular Organisms– reproduction, plants, growth and

development, maintaining stable body conditions.

• Unit 3 Life on Earth– Ecosystems, biodiversity, nitrogen cycle,

fertilisers, survival adaptations, behaviour.

Assessment Activities• Outcome 1

– Activity Assessment 1– Planning and carrying out an experiment. Writing this

experiment up.

• Outcome 2– Activity Assessment 2– Writing a short report describing biological application and effect

on environment/society.

• Activity Assessment 3– Series of questions looking at knowledge and understanding,

predicting, analysing, evaluating skills.

• Added Value Unit : Biology Assignment– Researching biological topical issue (8 hours) and communication

of these findings. Larger report.
