Drivers struck 3,727 people on Nassau County roads who were walking or biking from 2014 through 2016. Tri-State Transportation Campaign’s analysis of NYSDOT crash data reveals that Hempstead Turnpike (SR-24), Merrick Road, Sunrise Highway (SR-27), Old Country Road, and Jericho Turnpike (SR-25) had the highest number of crashes over the period studied.
