The last time he homered in consecutive games was in 2017 from April 17 - 20, where Bandy hom-ered in three straight games for Milwaukee. He now has 12 home runs this season, one shy of his single season-high of 13 set in 2014 with Double-A Arkansas.
Season Series Clincher: With Nashville earning their ninth win of the season against Oklahoma City last night, they clinched the season series. The Sounds were able to beat one other team in the American Conference in a season series, beating Memphis 9-7. They still have a chance to split with Iowa and Omaha, where Nashville has 8 losses each against them. The Sounds also won season series against Las Vegas, Sacramento and Tacoma.
The Home Run Pace: Nashville has clubbed 167 home runs in 2019, the fourth-fewest in the Pacific Coast League. However, they are pacing near the single-season team record of 183 set in 1999. The Sounds are currently averaging 1.31 home runs per game and need to average 1.33 per game over the final 13 contests to tie the record. The Sounds are on pace to hit just below 183 home runs this season.
Rock Solid on the Road: The Sounds continued to play good baseball on the road as they pushed their road record to 32-29 last night. During the First Tennessee Park era (2015-present), the Sounds have a 180-162 road record. Nashville is hitting .268 on the road compared to .255 at home. The Sounds have won 10 of their last 11 road games.
22 Straight with a Home Run: With home runs from Jett Bandy and Ronald Guzman last night, the Sounds have extended their home run streak to 21 consecutive games. They have hit a total of 42 in the 22-game stretch. That's good for 2nd in the PCL since July 27, behind Las Vegas (59).
Petrifying Petricka: Reliever Jake Petricka has found himself in the primary closer role for the Sounds since reliever David Carpenter was selected by Texas over a week ago. In the month of August, Petricka has three saves in eight games, and has posted a 1.08 ERA (1 ER/8.1 IP). Pacific Coast League opponents are hitting .172 against him in August.
It's Something About August: During the First Tennessee Park era (2015-present), the Sounds have an overall record of 82-53 in the month of August, including 14-5 this year. They went 18-11 in 2018, 13-14 in 2017, 21-9 in 2016 and 16-14 in 2015. Nashville is tied with Memphis for the best August record in the PCL. Only one team in all of minor league baseball have 15 wins (AZL Giants Orange). The New York Yankees are the only team in the Major Leagues with 15 wins in August.
