TNHS – PIGSAG-AN Culminates Nutrition MonthTuburan National High School – Pigsag-an culminated

the annual Nutrition month last July 30, 2015 at Pigsag-an Covered Court with the theme “Timbang Iwasto sa Tamang Nutrisyon at Ehersisyo”.

Pigsag-an educative community headed by Mr. Nilbert J. Pacheco boosted the said activity. High school teachers together with the SSG (Supreme Student Government) officers hosted the celebration and prepared varied competitions which gave students an avenue to maximize their talents and potentials to the fullest.

The festive atmosphere oozed with ardor and excitement during the culminating day as students busily preparing for their jingle presentations and others eagerly prepared varied fruits and vegetables for Cooking contest.

The said event was highlighted with the Jingle contest where the Seniors declared as champion, showed their prowess in singing and dancing .

Moreover, teachers gave their full support by taking charge of the different tasks assigned to them. They facilitated the different contests and games and joined with the parents in the Zumba dance (Hataw Sayaw).

The following were the winners for the school-based contests:

A. Essay-Writing Contest

1st place : Nica L. Bugsahan 9 – Newton

2nd place : Ritchel V. Talampas 10 – Diamond

3rd place : Leslie H. Laborte 8 – Mabini

4th place : Princess Q. Orasan 7 – Sampaguita

B. Cooking Contest

1st place : Loayan’s Group 10 – Diamond

2nd place : Jabla’s Group 10 – Diamond

3rd place : Laborte’s Group 9 - Newton

4th place : Dasdas’ Group 8 – Mabini

C. Poster-Making Contest

1st place : Carlito Agsimon 8 – Mabini

2nd place : Rey Pauran 10 – Diamond

3rd place : Kathlyn Joy Delima 9 - Newton

4th place : Klint G. Laga 8 – Mabini

D. Be Healthy Race

1st place : 10 – Diamond and 9 – Newton

2nd place : 7 – Sampaguita and 8 – Mabini

E. Jingle Contest

1st place : 10 – Diamond

2nd place : 8 – Mabini

3rd place : 9 - Newton

4th place : 7 – Sampaguita

Thus, the said activity enhanced students to develop their hidden talents and skills. It would not only talk about fun and nutrition needed by the body but on how we give importance to the thought of the celebration.
