MESSAGE FROM YOUR EXALTED RULER
It's almost December! Turkey Day has come and gone. Christmas is just around the corner. It is the time of year when our bathroom scales are straining to keep us from gaining weight from all the holiday goodies put in front of us. I want to wish all the members of Napa Lodge #832 and all brothers and sisters of Elkdom a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year! In November I chose Lillian Hartenstine as Elk of the Month and her two daughters, Cindy Batto and Jo Ann Escamilla as volunteers of the month for their dedication to Taco Tuesday which they started some years back. Thanks you ladies for all you do! Fraternally,
Calvin Cox Exalted Ruler
FROM YOUR LODGE SECRETARY Hello All!
Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving Holiday. It is hard to believe Christmas is coming soon.
On Wednesday, November 19th we initiated into the Lodge six new members: Bobbe Lee Ferraiolo, Roy White, Jennifer Phillips, Leanne White, Jim Brunsvold, Dr. Daniel Bennett. We hope they will all get involved in all our activities and committees. Also, we want to welcome a new member, Christopher Hunter, who transferred from the Clearfield, PA Lodge.
At this time we have 529 active members, 23 members who are delinquent. We hope these members will pay their dues so they can become active in the Lodge.
We would like to invite all our members and friends to our Memorial Sunday on December 7th. This is honoring our members who have passed this year and before. There will be a light brunch after the ceremony. The memorial begins at 11:00 a.m. We hope you all will attend.
Wishing you and yours the best holidays ever!
Fraternally,
Judy Fisher Napa Lodge Secretary

Activities & Events Report Dec. 2014
Burgers & Baseball: On October 29th, we had our Burgers and Bocce night. However, since the Giants were playing we renamed it Burgers and Baseball. Thank you to Dave Bridges for BBQing. We had a good turnout for dinner and everyone was cheering on this year's champions the SF Giants. Fun evening. Halloween: Fantastic turnout for this event. Great costumes, Best costume winner was Vivian McFarland in cognito as Ms. Peacock, Funniest costume went to our Lecturing Knight Ron Kilby as Dr. Kilby MD (Medically Disturbed) and we had a tie for the Spookiest costume and that was shared by Gilda the Pirate and Lone Ranger's (Tonto). Thank you everyone who dressed up for this occasion. Thanks to our costume judges Betty and Chuck Rathjen. Very tasty spooky dinner and dessert prepared by Sabine. My many thanks to Francisco for hanging decorations, Vivian McFarland for her assistance and flowers, and the staff and volunteers for working the buffet and helping where needed. Charlie Baker as always was a huge hit, he kept us all up singing and dancing. Thank you all for supporting Halloween 2014! I received many thumbs up on this event. Friday Night BBQ's: Last BBQ for the Roving Rooster's for this year was on 11/7 and the last BBQ for the lodge was on 11/14. BBQ's will return in 2015.Napa Valley Raffle: The raffle was won by Emma Ruffner. Classic Movie/South Pacific: Was held on Nov. 12th, attendance was about 60 folks. Because movie night is close to Veterans Day we remembered our veterans both at our lodge and in the movies. Coconuts Prawns and Pineapple Upside Down Cake were delicious. We played the movie and J. Silverheels played the sound track. Many thanks to Juanita Box for the use of the Palm trees and to Judy, Jan, Dave and staff. Veteran's Dinner: Was chaired by Bus Langdon on 11/15. Approximately 80 lodge veterans and their guest attended. John Olney helped to MC this event. John recognized all the military branches of service. Thanks to Sabine for the delicious buffet dinner and Vivian for the beautiful flower arrangements. And a big thanks to our veterans!!! Mexican Dinner Fundraiser: OMG!!! Where did all the people come from? We had a large crowd for this last Taco Tuesday. Vivian and Tom McFarland hosted this event with enchiladas and chili rellenos, at the bargain price of $10.00. This was an outstanding meal and a great turnout. We also celebrated Vivian's birthday, fun night. Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit the Building Fund. Thank you Tom, Vivian, Cindy and Joanne.50/50 Raffle: We started a NEW raffle for the Building Fund on 11/12 the drawing will be at the Crab Feed on 1/17/15. Get your tickets at the bar.
