INTRODUCTION

Thank you for choosing our Nano RO 2- or 3-membrane system. Please read this manualcarefullybeforeinstallationandstart-up.

TheCDL2-or3-membraneNanoRO isasimpleandeffectivetool formapleandbirchsapconcentration.Itsthree-stageprefiltrationremovesimpuritieslikesuspendedsolidsandlargerorganicmattertobetterprotectmembranesandimproveoverallsystemperformance.

Remarks and instructions

1. ReadtheinstructionsbeforeinstallingandoperatingtheROsystem.

2. Toavoiddamage to thesystem,donotdisassemble itunnecessarily.Disassemblingandreassemblingpartsmaycausebreaksorleaks.edeliquide.

3. Foryoursafety,itisrecommendedtoplugtheunitintoaGFCIelectricaloutlet.

4. Tomakesurethatthesystemrunsnormally,besuretousecleaningchemicalsandfilterssuppliedbyCDL.

5. Pleasehandle, install, andmove theunitwithcare toavoiddamaging themoredelicateparts.

6. Beforebeginningoperation,installthemembranesandthe5-micronfilterintheirrespectivehousings.

7. Washandrinsethesystemthoroughlybeforeconcentratingthesap(seedailymembranescleaningpage18).

8. Duringconcentration,donotexceed100psiforthe3-membranesystemand70psiforthe2-membranesystem.Inthe2-membranesystem,theconcentrateflowmustbedoublethepermeateflow.Sincethe2-membraneunitdoesnothavearecirculationpumptoensureproper cross-flow circulation, it is important to follow those rules to prevent membranefouling.

9. This system is not designed for concentrations exceeding 5 to 6 degrees Brix for the3-membraneunit(whichhasarecirculationpump)and4degreesBrixinbatchmodeforthe2-membraneunit(whichdoesnothavearecirculationpump).Concentrationcapacityvariesdependingontheconditionofthemembranes,thetemperatureandqualityofthesap,andtheoperatingpressure.

• Stage4:Aregulatingvalveonthe1/4”concentrateoutlet(red tube)increasesandreducesthepressureandcontrolsthelevelofconcentration.Maximum operating pressure: 100 psi (70 psi on 2-membrane system).

Recirculation pump:

The 3-membrane Nano RO is equipped with a unique recirculationpump for better performance.
