Welcome Back - we hope you had an enjoyable holiday break. It is good to see all students back with a smile on their face and eager to learn. This term the curriculum focus will be on Chemical Science, Digital Technology, Arts and for Grades 5 & 6 Business & Economics. The curriculum is available for parents/guardians to view online. Our Big Write Program will re-commence next week. The SOLO Inquiry Program is also continuing this term. Parent / Guardian - Teacher Interviews - if you would like to book in to see your child’s Teacher to discuss their progress please contact the school to make an appointment for after 3.30 of an afternoon. School Fees for 2019 - our School Fees for 2019 have been set at $150 for the year. However, we are offering a special of half price $75 on the fees if you pay by the end of the this year. Student Free Day (Curriculum Day for Teachers) - there will be a student free day on Monday 5th of November. School hats - during this term all students must wear either a wide brimmed hat or a bucket hat. Caps are not Sunsmart. If you need to purchase a hat we have them for sale for $16.50 each. New School Uniform Shirts - will be arriving in the coming weeks. Each student will be given one shirt for free. Other shirts can be purchased. We will let you know more in the coming Newsletters. Parents Group - for Term 4 the Parents Group are alternating each week with either craft activities or a lunchtime meal deal. Next Monday - 15.10.18 they will be offering an afternoon craft session from 3 to 4pm. If you would like for your child to participate in this craft session please contact either Ben on 0429 264 448 or Sebastian on 0428 723 262 on Monday to let them know. If Ben or Sebastian are not contacted then the student will be put on the bus at 3pm to go home.

Attached is a permission form for these craft sessions. Please note, you only need to fill in this permission form once to cover the whole term. We will let you know in next week’s Newsletter what lunchtime meal deal is going to be offered for the following week. Upcoming event - the Parents Group are in the process of organising a Halloween Disco for students. More information will follow in the coming Newsletters. Thank you to the wonderful parents/guardians who donate their time to run these activities. Cardross Show & Mildura Show - Mrs Hicks has arranged for some of our students art work to be displayed at both the Cardross Show (Sat- 13.10.18) and Mildura Show (Thurs- 18.10.18 to Sat- 20.10.18). Please keep an eye out for these exceptional pieces of art if you visit these Shows. Steptember - Nangi Ninjas - last month Nicole Macklin, Caroline Scott, Shae-Marie and Geordie Saunders participated in this years Steptember Challenge to raise money to support children and adults with cerebral palsy. They are very proud with their efforts as they achieved…. Well done ladies on this outstanding achievement.

Tree Planting - to help beautify our great school we have planted a hedge of small trees at the front of the school. With the warmer weather now upon us we anticipate that these will grow quickly and further enhance our school.

Weekly Craft Workshop Permission Form Term 4

Dear Parents and Guardians We will be offering Weekly Craft Workshops every second week this Term. Our first session will be Monday 15th of October. These craft sessions will run for 1 hour. Students will need to be collected at 4pm. Cost is $2 per session. Students may attend as many or as few sessions as they wish. Please fill in and return the permission slip below. Please remember that you MUST contact Ben Or Sebastian each Monday if you are wishing your child to attend. If they do not receive confirmation each week your child will be sent home on the bus as per usual. Thank you and Happy Crafting!

COMMUNITY NOTICES The Local golf clubs in conjunction with the Murray Darling Golf association are running 6 weeks of free ‘come and try’ golf sessions. These sessions are for people of any age that think they might like to see whether they have an interest in golf in some form or another.
