Radio Analysis.

The Nando’s advert was very good. I really liked it, although it didn’t make me hungry

or crave Nando’s.

The style of the radio advert was very humorous and repetitive. Even though it was

very formal. The overall message of the advert was about what you can get at

Nando’s. It also lets you know ‘That’s okay’ this leads us to believe that everything

will be okay.

The actual advert itself was planned very well and the talking was done in a foreign

accent. This tells us that the food may be foreign. And as we well know it is. And the

way that the talker in the advert talked was very ‘jokey’. This is because it g ives good

amusement and everyone can connect with jokes and laughs. Also there was a height

level of conversational language used. This allowed the listener to interact with the

advert and really connect with it. The slogan used in the Nando’s advert was ‘The

Spirit of Nandos’ this is a good slogan because we compare spirits to heaven, making

us believe that the food will be heavenly. Although they only actually said the word

Nando’s 3 times. The music went really well with the advert because it was

‘mariachi` music. It went well with the Mexican accent. The contact details of

Nando’s weren’t mentioned. But it isn’t hard to find the closest store to you. And last

but not least the main overall point of the advert was to go through special offers

and the sales out for Nando’s.

Legal and Ethical Issues:

There are a few legal and ethical issues around the whole advert. The mere fact that

they used a Mexican accent in the advert has to be carefully planned to try and not

to offend the ‘Racist minority’. But the food chain is Portuguese/South African so the

leeway on the accent might have been different.
