Simile and Metaphor Activity Sheetsimile a type of figurative language in which the writer compares two things using the words
like or as. Examples: “The old bread was as hard as a brick” and “His eyes were like blue swim-ming pools.”
metaphor a type of figurative language in which the writer compares two things by using a form of the verb to be. In other words, the writer states that one thing is another thing in order to make the reader notice how they are alike. For example, “The old bread was a brick” and “His eyes were blue swimming pools.”
