0 Cricket Knockout Last Thursday, the school cricket team played Forster Public School in the first round of the PSSA knockout competition. Although our boys had far less experience, we pressured the opposition into a fairly close match. At one stage we even had a chance for a team 'hat-trick' (three wickets in three balls). We were able to bowl the Forster team out for 142 and made a brave effort to chase down their score. With only four wickets lost Nabiac scored 110 runs but, unfortunately, ran out of time and overs to catch their total. A massive thank you to all of the supporters who turned up to cheer us on and another big thank you to Lucas Gordon for filling in at short notice. Congratulations to the P&C for a spectacular night of singing and dancing at the 80s night. Such a lot of work went into organising the night and it paid off with so many people coming along to support the event. On behalf of the students and staff I would like to sincerely thank the P&C for their massive effort. Stewart House For almost 90 years, Stewart House has supported children from across NSW and ACT public schools who are going through tough times and are in need of a break In more recent times, this has included many children from families who have been adversely affected by prolonged drought and economic hardship. Children attend Stewart House free of charge and we rely almost entirely on charitable donations to run our 12 day program, designed to develop their physical, social and emotional wellbeing. School fundraising has always provided much needed revenue for Stewart House. Our school contributes by running the Stewart House Donation Drive. Every student will be sent home with an envelope. We ask every family to donate $2 into each envelope and return for a chance to win a holiday prize worth $4,000. School Photos – Change of date School Photos will be held on Thursday 19th March. Sibling envelopes are available at the office. Parents, please return the envelope/s to school by Friday 13th March. Payment can be made on line or cash in the envelope.

NPS 80s Night Fundraiser Saturday’s 80s night was a great success! Thank you to everyone who attended and for the incredible effort everyone

went to in getting dressed up for the night. What a sight! It was a tight contest, but the Best Dressed winners were

Kylie Mole aka Nic Hansen and Hulk Hogan aka Wes Bending.

The night raised a total of $4,245.25. This was thanks to ticket sales, food platters purchased for the evening, sale of

cheese boards and raffle tickets, passes for the photo booth, and coins from the arcade game. Thank you everyone for

your generous contributions and support! Congratulations to Guy Page on your raffle win.

The NPS P&C Association would like to say a big special thank you to the following people:

The school office staff, Mrs McKinnon, Mrs Crick and Mrs Dickson for helping with the sale of tickets and taking

platter orders. Thank you for your support.

Lauren Campbell and Tanya Combe for organising the food platters, and to Michelle Gordon for helping put them

together on the night. The platters were delicious, thank you!

Christal Pearce, Stacey Forrest and Lauren Campbell for the amazing decorations. Such a massive effort which

transported our local hall back to the 1980s.

The fantastic DJ’s, the Firefly Spinners, you guys really made the night. Thank you for donating your time, expertise,

equipment and energy.

Nabiac Pharmacy, thank you for selling tickets for us.

Wayne and Deb Kelly and DJ Alex who judged the Lip Sync Talent Quest. Brilliant job (although we’re currently

dealing with an appeal from the 4th placed entrants).

Hugh Murray aka David Bowie, for MC’ing the evening, thank you!

The Newell family for donating the cocktail table arcade game for the evening. Thank you Newells for your

generosity.

Those committed souls who stayed behind on Saturday evening to help stack chairs and tables and those who turned

up on Sunday morning to do the final clean up, thank you.

The teachers and support staff who performed a brilliant lip sync act on the night, securing 1st place in the

competition. Thank you for your enthusiasm!!

Finally, a huge thank you to all those who bought raffle tickets, came along to the event, got dressed up and got into

the spirit of the evening. It was a great night, thank you. Rebecca Harper P&C President
