Consultant (1/11/2004 till date)

Providing consultancy and conducts training programs in:Electrical Engineering, Power & Utilities, HSE (Health, Safety, Environment).

Developed training programs for several clients such as: SABIC, Saudi Arabia Indian School of Petroleum Society for Petroleum Energy Audit and Research (SPEAR)

These training programs are conducted periodically to operation and maintenance engineers /technicians of Refineries and Petrochemical plants. In addition to national standards and statutory requirements, international Regulations, Codes, and Standards - IEC, OSHA, NIOSH, NEC, NFPA, IEEE are discussed in these training programs. BPCL-Kochi Refinery (15/5/1981 to 31/12/2004)

Held positions of increasing responsibility listed under, including Technical Services and Projects Department functions.

Setting design guidelines, codes and standards and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements by contractors.

Specification of all new equipment and upgrading existing equipment

Set up Power Management system covering 66 KV Switchyard, power plant including 11 KV CPP Switchboard and 11 KV Main Substation.

Reviewing and approving critical system documents such as one line diagram, electrical system analysis related harmonics, short circuit etc.

Prequalification of vendors, technical evaluation of bids. Start up and operation of system.

Prepared the resource requirements & budgets for projects as well as technical services.

Implemented ISO-9000/ISO-14000 quality standards and prepared the documentation.

Coordinated with government bodies and agencies to obtain licences and approvals.

Refinery Representative to attain ISRS Level 8 of safety standards certification.

The assignment included implementing the quality assurance systems for Fertilizer Project at Basra. The installations ensured conformity with National Electric Code (NEC) of US, Japanese Electric Association Code (JEAC/JEA) and Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) of Japan.

Installed & commissioned the Electrical systems at Metal Box Company of India, South India Flour Mills (both in Chennai) and Small Arms Factory (Trichy).
