THANK YOU

On behalf of all of us, we wanted to say a very big THANK YOU to n-ergy for your fantastic support, time and enthusiasm raising an incredible £3,802 for Kidney Research UK. Thank you for making our life-changing work possible.

The money you’ve raised goes directly into researching the causes and prevention of kidney disease, in the hope of finding better treatments and a cure to help over 3 million people in the UK at risk of chronic kidney disease.

We have already invested over £50 million into kidney research and couldn’t do this without the help of supporters like n-ergy. Your fundraising means we continue our vital research, helping us to save even more lives affected by kidney disease.

Lives of those like Lydia aged 21. At the age of 18, Lydia’s hair started to fall out and she always felt tired and thirsty. She went to the doctor and initially they thought she was anaemic. However, she was contacted and told to go to hospital immediately after they found out she only had one kidney functioning and it was failing.

Lydia has been waiting a long time for a kidney transplant; over three years. She can no longer breathe well enough to go for walks or dance with her friends. She spends seven hours on dialysis every night, which is slowly taking its toll. Some days, Lydia wakes up feeling so sick, she knows she can’t carry on like this for much longer.

Over the next three years, Kidney Research UK have committed to raising £3 million to accelerate groundbreaking research into improving transplantation. One person dies every day in the UK waiting for a kidney. Kidney Research UK wants to save more lives sooner by accelerating groundbreaking research into improving kidney transplantation. Working with world class experts and using a peer review process, we will select the very best Doctors, Scientists and Researchers in the UK to lead a research programme looking at the current problems with kidney transplantation. If we can make kidney transplants work better and last longer, more people will benefit from lifesaving treatment and we will reduce the kidney transplant waiting list.

Thank you again for everything you have done to support Kidney Research UK and the work we are doing to transform the lives of those affected by kidney disease.
