CALVADOS

www.calvados-drouin.com

The story of Calvados Christian Drouin began around 1960 when Christian Drouin, an industrialist from Rouen

(Normandie), decided to buy a farm and to use the cider-apple orchards to produce Calvados. His ambition was

simple: produce a top-quality spirit, the best. The third-generation is now hard at work. It maintains the tradition that

have enabled to become one of the 100 “sites of excellence in taste” selected by the ministry for culture.

RHUM

http://www.rhum-hse.com/

HSE - Habitation Saint Etienne was modelled after “La Maugée”, a sugar refinery near Gros Morne

in the early 19th century. HSE was then purchased by Amédée Aubéry, a young industry captain who

transformed the sugar refinery into a farm distillery. Thanks to their know-how for maturation or ageing

process in several different casks, they create refined and exclusive Rhums with innovative tastes. The

AOC guarantees quality, authenticity and best terroir for sugar cane for Martinique’s Rhums.

RHUM AGRICOLE BLANC has established HSE’s reputation. It is distilled within the year and

recognized for its fresh and typical nature. This classic of the Saint-Etienne Rhums offers an intense and

bold nose where floral and fruity notes blend with the subtle emanation of white pepper.

HSE RHUM AGRICOLE EXTRA VIEUX

“SAUTERNES FINISH” 870-SAUT N/V 6/750

“VSOP” - TRES VIEUX RHUM AGRICOLE owes its Creole flavour but also its spicy and aromatic

palate to a very long ageing process in Bourbon and French oak casks. The nose is rich with candied fruit :

apricot, peach, cantaloupe, followed by notes of grilled almonds and caramel with buttered coffee and

clove.

“XO” - RHUM AGRICOLE EXTRA VIEUX is from a selection of the oldest of the plantation

estate's vintages as of 1960. It has an amber robe with a noble nose of extreme richness.

Marked notes of cocoa, mocha and blond tobacco, with a touch of spice : black pepper and nutmeg.

“BLACK SHERIFF” - RHUM AGRICOLE is a blend of three year-old rums mainly aged in American

bourbon barrels, sourced from the states of Kentucky and Missouri.

The nose offers generous vanilla aromas, enhanced by honey nuances coated by woody notes.

“HIGHLAND FINISH” - RHUM AGRICOLE EXTRA VIEUX has been aged 9 years in oak

barrels, and has spent an additional 12 months maturing in Highland Single Malt whisky barrels.

The flavour’s refreshing attack allows notes of smoked oats, nectarines, mint humbugs and spices typical

of aged Rhum to develop.

“SAUTERNES FINISH” - RHUM AGRICOLE EXTRA VIEUX has been aged 9 years in the great

tradition of aged HSE Rhum, and has spent an additional 8 months maturing in Château La Tour Blanche,

Sauternes 1er Cru Classé. The flavour has a captivating roundness and sublime sweet notes of dried fruit

and Muscat before aromatic orange peel rounds it off beautifully.

wine-growing and wine-making by the owners. Eric Fabre, the winemaker of Château Ramafort, is the former winemaker of

Out of the 4 Muscadet appellations, Sèvre-et-Maine is the largest in volume and the highest in quality. Domaine de la

LOIRE VALLEY

Château Moncontour is one of the oldest of the Loir e Valley; it was created around the 4th century. Since the tenth

century, caves have been excavated in the cliffs to vinify and preserve its precious wine. Though the estate originated in the

thirteenth century, the actual castle dates back to the end of the fifteenth. Even Balzac longed to own it, and in his novel "La

femme de trente ans," he immortalized Moncontour and its wines. The total surface of the vineyards is 140 hectares (capable of

producing one million bottles) spread out over several types of soils of VOUVRAY and TOURAINE Appellation near Tours.

This makes this estate one of the biggest of the Loire Valley.

Saumur Champigny is among the Loire valley’s finest red wines. This is the ter roir of excellence for a balanced

expression of cabernet franc. The cabernet franc wines growing in the chalky soils of the “Tuffeaux” region give this wine the

characteristics of suppleness and an aromatic bouquet.

The Domaine du Colombier has been in the Loiseau family for five generations. The entire surface of the 35 acre vineyard is

planted with Cabernet Franc.

The vineyards of Chateau Gaillard are situated on the hills which dominate the northern side of the river Loire between

Amboise and Blois in the very heart of the appellation Touraine Mesland. Since 1978, Vincent Girault has sought to produce

The soil of Pouilly-Fumé, it was believed, gives the wine a pronounced gunflint or smoky flavor , hence the name of the

wine: Pouilly-Fume. The philosophy of wine making in Pouilly-Fumé (same for Sancerre) has traditionally focused on preserving

the pure, uninhibited flavors of Sauvignon Blanc and the grape’s naturally high acidity. Jean-Louis Langoux starting cultivating

some grapes in 1895. His grand son, after his father, took over the family farm and concentrated everything around his vines.

The wine tradition at Domaine Raissac is very old as it goes back to the Gallo Roman per iod, to times when this place

was already well known for its rich soils and pleasant Mediterranean climate. Since 1823 wine growers of the same family,

for six generations, have been cultivating and breeding wine at Raissac. Cecile and Gustave Viennet perpetuate today this

family tradition. The Chateau de Raissac and its vineyards are situated in the heart of the Languedoc region near to the town

of Beziers on the sunny slopes of the Mediterranean sea.

The Château de Pourcieux from the time immemorial has been an Impor tant site of viticulture and ranks among the

most venerable vineyards of Provence. Roman vestiges bear witness to its history; beneath the chateau its cellars contain

monumental vats dating from the XVIIIth century and a collection of oak hogsheads which are assembled on the spot and are

still in use today. Since 1986, Michel D’Espagnet perpetuates the family tradition.

While staying in Hyeres in the winter of 1892, Queen Victoria stopped at Château de la Clapière to admire the estate’s

beauty. On that day, a little 8-year girl held out a bouquet of violets to her and talked with her for a few minutes: it was Victo-

ria Constant, her great-grandmother. Years later, when her grandfather Henri came to ask Charlotte Constant’s parents for her

hand in marriage, he offered to entrust them with the estate’s management: that was how Victoria gained access to the chateau

of her childhood dreams.

VOUVRAY - MONCONTOUR

Château Moncontour is one of the oldest of the Loire Valley, dating back to the 4th century. Since the 10th century,

caves have been excavated in the cliffs to vinify and preserve its precious wine. Though the estate originated in the 13th cen-

tury, the actual castle dates back to the end of the 15h. Even Balzac longed to own it, and in his novel "La femme de trente

ans," he immortalized Moncontour and its wines. The total surface of the vineyards is 140 ha (capable of producing 1 mil

bottles) spread out over several types of soils of VOUVRAY and TOURAINE Appellation near Tours.

This makes this estate one of the biggest of the Loire Valley.
