N-95 MASK COVER SEWING INSTRUCTIONS Materials • Sewing Machine • Thread • Tracing pen or marker • Scissors • 1/8 yd Pattern 100% Cotton, Tight knit • 1/8 yd Plain Color 100% Cotton fabric • 19 in of ¼ in elastic • Pattern Provided Instructions 1. Using your template, trace and cut two mask patterns on each type of material (2 Plain, 2 Pattern). 2. Mark on each piece where you will be attaching your elastic. This is indicated on the template. 3. Take one of each types of fabric and face right sides in and pin together. 4. Cut 2 pieces of elastic, 9.5 in long. 5. Unpin the center of your fabric, place one piece of elastic between the two making a U shape. Pin the elastic ends where you marked the fabric with the ends flush with the edge. Note: make sure your elastic is not twisted. 6. Using a zigzag stich, sew with a 1/4in inseam along the edge with the elastic. 7. Turn the fabric right side out smoothing your seam, then with a straight stitch, sew with 1/8” seam along the same side to finish and secure the elastic. 8. Follow steps 3-7 for the second set. 9. Take the two finished side and lay them right sides in and pin together. 10. Sew the outside edge with a 1/2” seam with a straight stitch. 11. Cut all loose strings and turn right side out.
