The design challenge for this project was to incorporate all “Urban Living” ingredients into a small space while open to ideas. After a considerable period of time spent into investigation and escalading of ideas, I arrived at incorporations five program spaces that I considered are the main interdental of a vibrant and livable urban establishment. Those are enternitaniment, learning, retail and hospitality, urban lofts, and an open public space. Each of this space is physically connected to each other because each will influence activities in the other. So it sort of an interconnected network of activities.

Farmington Center for the Performing Arts, Farmington, Michigan
Visual and physical connection between the park and the downtown area of Farmington, Michigan was the challenge. The overall idea attempts to solve the issue by taking it beyond creating “connection”. The architectural statement of the performing arts center “connects” the upper part of the city to the park (60’ below) and creates physical and visual connection but calls on an overall Urbanization of Farmington. Preserving and protecting the city’s most valu-able natural assets, the park, river and the hill that connects them. The development of a performing arts center, residen-tial and retail mixed use accompany a public plaza/courtyard will enable the city to reach out to its surroundings and invite them in for future Development and urban life.

Architecture Greek Culinary Art Institute, Detroit, Michigan
Continuous FlowThe design ideas are driven from the culture, history and geography of the sophisticated nation of Greece. The design program is a teaching institute for the Greek culinary art with an emphasis on agriculture feature. The garden revolves and elevates through the building imitating the revolving history of Greece across times. The incorporation of a revolv-ing staircase and glass elevator responds to the experience of space and views of the garden. The sense of flow in the building responds to the flow of the Mediterranean Sea as it continuously flows around the Greek Islands and mainland.

Architecture Pavilion for Vertical and Horizontal Linkage
To experience space setup using cantile-vers structures, 20’ width and 13’ height. Ascending and descending along the vertical linkage of the pavilion. Back and forth along the horizontal linkage of the pavilion. Then emerging out from the ground into the terrace to experience the different setup of space from in-ground to out-ground.
