Today I was watching T.V., and a commercial came on for a new car. The commercial said that the car would go 31 miles on 1 gallon. So I wondered, how many miles would it go on 9 gallons?

My Math JournalToday we went to the Museum of Science and Industry. Each of my family members wanted to go to a different place. One wanted to go to the old fashioned ice cream parlor, one wanted to visit the rockets, and one wanted to visit the circus display. My brother was looking forward to walking on the cobblestone street. My sister wanted to look through the wavy mirrors. My dad wanted to enter in the side of the building. Which person wanted to go where?

My Math JournalToday I was watching a cooking show. The show said that the best way to cook the meat was by cooking each side individually. Each piece of meat is shaped like a cube and it takes 2 minutes for each side to cook. If there are 6 pieces of meat that need to be cooked, and each one is cooked by itself, how long does it take for all the meat to be cooked?

My Math JournalToday I was playing my instrument and I thought about all of the possible combinations that could make up the song I was playing. The count was 4\4 which means that there are 4 beats in each measure. A measure is a section of music in which a number of beats can be played. There are 3 different kinds of notes that could make up this piece, The quarter note, which counts for 1 beat, the half note, which has 2 beats, and the whole note which counts for 4 beats. If there are 8 measures, and you can only use each note twice in each measure, how many combinations can be made?
