Cabinet of the FutureWITH AVENTOS SERVO-DRIVE,

Austrian fittings manufacturer Blum first created excitement in

the home industry with its cutting edge technology, the tried and

tested pull-out system. Now, true to its name of perfecting mo-

tion, they create the Aventos Servo-Drive for cabinets. And, it’s

even better!

The Servo-Drive electric system only needs a gentle touch to open

cabinets. They close again just as conveniently at the press of a

wireless switch within the cabinet interiors. This comes in handy

if your hands are dirty in the kitchen, or your arms are full with

bowls. These wall cabinets can be opened with your elbows and

even with the back of your hands! No more banging and creating

a din as you occasionally would on cabinet doors without the lift

system. Using Blumotion, your cabinets will close silently and just

as effortlessly.

Easy assembly and cabling with integrated collision protection,

Servo-Drive for Aventos is available for bi-fold lift systems, up and

over lift systems and lift ups. Whether it’s a base or wall cabinet,

these features certainly make working in the kitchen convenient

and comfortable.

At the same time, another of Blum’s latest invention aims to take

the tangle out of kitchen film. I suspect the product team at Blum

are really a bunch of housewives who know what we need! This

new film and foil cutter is superior in terms of functionality. It fa-

cilitates tangle-free dispensing and provides a precise and efficient

cut. Cling film and aluminium foil are kept in a high-quality nylon

housing which can either be integrated into the ORGA-LINE inner

dividing system or fitted in a drawer with a special connector. The

film and foil cutter can be removed from the drawer when needed.

What impresses me however, is the new and improved cutter bar.

It stops the film from tangling when it is pulled out and cut. After

use, it can simply be re-attached to the edge of the film. You have

to experience it yourself to know what I mean.
