One-to-One Mentoring
Develop ongoing, intense mentoring relationships between girls residing in economically disadvantaged
neighborhoods in Baltimore with highly qualified volunteer mentors.
Need
Simultaneous after school programs in two title one elementary
schools. Introductory year of our program encourages self esteem, development of group dynamic, preparation for match with a mentor,
middle school placement guidance.
After School Program
• 72% retention rate of those who start the program in 6th grade • 80.5% retention rate of those who enter high school in the program • 97% high school graduation of those who complete the program • 93% college entry to date
