School 4, Mytischi

We live in Mytischi. Our town is not big but it is not small. There are more than 250 000 people in our town. It is near Moscow. It is very beautiful. You can visit many interesting places in our town. And we love it.

The History of our TownThe name of our town is from the word “Myt” or money that people paid for travelling to Moscow. You can see such ancient boat in our town park on the bank of the Yauza river and on the flag of our town.

In 1779 people built “water running tube” to give water to Moscow . Now we can see the bridge of that time in Moscow.

Moscow-Yaroslavl railway

In 1868 they began to build Moscow- Yaroslavl railway. And in 1896 we got railway station in Mytischi. Also we have a famous factory that builts carrages for Metro.

The street we live inWe live in Lyetnaya street. Before there were an airclub for pilots-students. Later they fought in the war. You can see this monument to the plane in our street.

On the other side of the street there is a new building- the “Ice Palace” or the grate skating ring

“Losinyi ostrov”- a national forest park

In Mytischi region there is a national forest park. The territory of the forest is about 128 square km. They organized it in 1979. There are a lot of unusual trees, plants, animals and birds.

The theatres in our town

There are some theatres in our town: Drama theatre, Puppet theater. We like to go to the theatres and watch different plays.

The town park

On Holidays or Sundays we often go to our town park. There are a lot of funfairs here. You can spend all day to ride, to play or to have some tasty food. It is a real memory day.
