If you already have other software, then great, you can check through that but for those of you just starting, please read my “Incredible Charts Start Up” in the Article section for an insight into how I set the charts to look like the below.

Below you will see five charts with my explanation of when I bought and sold for a profit (not incl brokerage fees of $15 to buy and $15 to sell). Further down there are another twelve stocks that I bought and sold for a profit in 2010-2011 but looks like they are not around anymore as I cannot find the ASX code for them anymore.

And lastly, my downfalls! What stocks I lost out on, and why…..(Which I could only probably analyse now as I have learnt a little more since then). Though there will be some losses in my future trading which is inevitable, these will be the ones that you get out of quickly if they don’t move the way you expect them do. Stop losses are in place so that profits don’t disintegrate.

MACD 2/3/5I was using the MACD 2/3/5 Chart and got out when the blue line crossed over the red. The other indicator being the 2/3/5 moving average. Now this only gave me 12.3% profit which is good enough but as you can see from the chart, I could have been looking at a longer day MACD and moving average for example 7/3/21 as it was still climbing, so I may have been able to get more profit from this.

Which I why I went back in on the 22nd Dec. I

could have just stayed in the trade and stayed with

the 7/13/21 Indicator all along but it also shows

you that you can still get in and out of a trade

quickly and still make money. As you can see

when I did get back in on the 22nd Dec and sold on

the 4th Jan, I made an extra 60% profit.

Once again using the 2/3/5 Indicators scored me

a profit of 41.5% on this stock. I had time that

day to get out right on the turn with an hourly

chart but you don’t always have to get out at the

top. If you have the time to do hourly charts

that’s fine but most people are working so you

may not have bought this stock. You may have

waited for another stock that was rising on a

larger scale MACD.

I could have got out on 15th when it was .03 but for some

unknown reason I stayed in. Confusion was with the long

MACD 21/34/55. You need to know whether you are going to

stay in this longer or not. If not, stick with the shorter time

indicators for exit. If I had have found this sooner, I would

have got 16th or 17th at around 0.016.

over as I was losing money and I just stubbornly stayed in.
