My media product adopted traditional rock conventions, and in some cases developed and

challenged them to generate a unique stance between my own and other music videos

already out there. Traditionally, rock videos (and many other videos) have specific

understanding of the good and evil portrayed within the video, however, my narrative allows

the audience to believe that the silver man (leading male) is the antagonist purely by his

body language, mysteriousness and inhuman costume. However, as the story progresses,they are exposed to the male in a completely different way, where he is returning the

females lost purse. Also, the way in which the females are quite dominated and easily won

in narratives is developed and even challenged, as the female gets away.

Also, rock music videos tend to be quite serious and dark, and my music video develops this

convention as well as challenges it to an extent, as it conveys serious topics and dark

mysterious features, but all in a comical sense. Another convention that I have adopted has

been the centring of the lead singer, to act as the front man of the entire band. This is

apparent through the ancillary text mainly, as the music video dedicates band shots to

promote band unity and companionship.

However, my media products use traditional yet somewhat unique colour schemes and

structures, both in the music video and throughout the ancillary texts. My web page is

designed to suit the release of the new single Vagabond in which (as accustomed to the

music video) the silver scheme is synergised throughout.

I feel that Ive established the rock genre as response in our audience feedback

questionnaire comment say that the music video especially adopts traditional rock icons

such as the use of converse, checkered shirts and dark mysterious narratives. But

merges it with features that will universally appeal to other audiences, therefore

attracting anyone from any speciffic group. Its something for everyone, it strikes theright balance between a rock statement and a neutral spread of ideas and

conventions which is excellent feedback that I can conclusively draw upon. This data

shows that our blend of rock conventions as well as our own signature stance has given us

more audience, as well as achieving multiple different interpretations which bring us onto a

completely unique scale.
