Today, my presentation is about an intimate place, where I was born and grew up - its An Giang Province, my home town. An Giang Province is one of the south-western provinces of Vietnam. It has two cities, eight districts and a county town. I live in Long Xuyen City as we all know its the heart of An Giang because of the central political system and its highly developed in economy, finance, commerce, services than the others. But I do not only send my love for Long Xuyen City, Im also extremely proud of about the other districts - which make us be delighted by their successful in tourism - an important piece in service industry to popularize our home town more and more being known.I know you cant wait anymore to hear about our most famous beautiful sceneries, so Im telling you right now.Well, firstly, I want to introduce you about Sam Mountain in Chau Doc City and its attractive festival - Ba Chua Xu Festival (or can be called as The Lady of the Region Festival). According to the legend, nearly 200 years ago, the villagers who live nearby Sam Mountain foot found a beautiful stone lady statue on its top. A lot of strange phenomenons happend in the same time and all people believed that the statue is the figure of the Lady of the Region, who is always blessed and cared for villagers life. They also built a temple for the statue. Since then, Ba Chua Xu Worshipping Festival has become a great culture event in Southern of Viet Nam that annually attracts millions of tourists nationwide who hope to ask for blessing and witness, held from the 23rd to the 26th day of the fourth lunar month, usually late May or early June.Lets move to Tuc Dup Hill - a very famous historical scenery. Its located in Tri Ton District, belongs to Co To Mountain. Although Tuc Dup Hill is only 300 meters high but this sight was used as a safe place for Vietnamese peoples army to hide and fight against American forces. With its complicated and dangerous geography combine with the wisdom and brave of Vietnamese peoples army, within 128 days, the enemy was defeated. The sum of the money that the opponent had to pay for bullets and bombs they use to destroy the hill was 2 million dollars. So, the hills also known as 2 million-dollar hill. Now we come back to Long Xuyen City. O Moi Ferry, which nearby Long Xuyen Market, always welcomes you to visit the President Ton Duc Thang Memorial House. Its located in the opposite side of Long Xuyen City, in My Hoa Hung Commune. Thats a stunning building which stored many precious historic documentaries about the war between Vietnamese peoples army and France forces. You can visit the lovely house and the small garden, connected with Uncle Tons childhood. The atmospheric in Uncle Ton Temple will bring you some unforgettable feelings. Why dont we talk about An Giang cuisine? Im sure after travelling from Chau Doc to Tri Ton and then Long Xuyen, you must be quite starving now, dont you? But we have not visited all An Giang Province yet. I havent mentioned you about Banh Bo Tan Chau. If you like noodles food, I introduce you Banh Canh Vinh Trung, in Tinh Bien District. Another one I want you to try is Banh Xeo Cho Moi. It is made with mung beans, folk meat, wheat flour and fried in a hot pan. This yummy cake will remind you of Cho Moi District every time you want to try it again.`What do you think about eating in Long Xuyen City if you dont want to go so far? You shouldnt miss Pho. Its a must-eat dish in this city, special delicious, I warrant. You can choose Pho Tu Xuyen, Pho Ai Loan. But I suggest you should choose Pho Hoa because of its tasty soup. Now lets talk about people. Im sure you can easily find the friendliness and honesty from most of south-western people and of course, An Giang people are not exception. Over a decade ago, An Giang was still poor. Many people lack of food and money, they have to work hard all day in farms or in factories just to make ends meet. But thanks for their efforts, strenuous days working in the field to evolve the water rice agriculture of the province, now most of us have a good condition in life. Life is improving day by day, but sentiment is unchangeable. Vietnamese ethical traditional still being maitained. We love each other, share affections for more unlucky mortals than us, the disabled, solitary persons or abandoned ones. One of the most convinced proof for what I said is An Giangs multi-cultural characteristic. In war time, many immigrants from the other sides of this country or from abroad came to our home town to live. They could be a group of people from the north, the south-east of Vietnam or they were from China, Cambodian. There has been no differentiation between residents of this land and immigrants. We welcomed them, then we lived, we cooperated to produce and construct everything by our own hands and everyone found peace and happiness. After war, when this nation was independent, they still live here. An Giang now becomes their second hometown. Our young generations, when they have to leave their hometown for studying, finding promotion opportunities for career, they still do not forget their dearest home town. After years of separation for private ambitions, they come back to An Giang and try their best to build it richer and more beautiful.I know this famous quote from a song: Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country. I have the children now and I also teach them every day about what they need to be when they grow up. My determination inspires them how to be a Vietnamese civilian and a good child of An Giang Province.Thats all I want to tell you about my home town. Im very appreciate your reading and we hope to welcome you to An Giang Province someday.
