Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao

Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao was born on February 17, 1954 at Chintamadaka village in Medak district.

KCR is married to Shobha, who is the daughter of freedom fighter J.Keshava Rao from Kodurpaaka.

Sri Chandrashekar Rao attained a Master’s degree in Telugu Literature from Arts College-Osmania University, Hyderabad.

Political career

KCR started his career with the youth Congress party in Medak district.Under the leadership of Sanjay Gandhi though congress was in a bad position he stood with them.

later he joined Telugu Desam Party led by NT.Rama Rao. KCR is known for his fluency in Telugu, Hindi, English and

Urdu languages. In 1990, he was appointed as TDP convener for Medak,

Nizamabad and Adilabad districts. In 1996, he worked as Transport minister in Chandrababu

Naidu cabinet. He also served as the deputy speaker of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly from 2000-2001.

Telangana Rashtra Samithi

On 27 April 2001, Rao resigned as Deputy Speaker, TDP MLA and TDP Party as well.

April 2001, he formed the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Party at Jala Drushyam, Hyderabad to achieve Telangana statehood.

KCR was started the Telangana Movement in 2001 to divide the Telangana from Andhra Pradesh.

July 30-2013 Congress party Declared the Telangana Bill in Parliament by voice amid major disruptions by MPs from Seemandhra.

June 2, 2014 Congress announces the formation of the separate state of Telangana. It is all set to become India's 29th state.

elections, TRS won a landslide victory in a city that's known to be their toughest platform.
