Facebook• Facebook has been around for awhile now, and is used by many
people of all ages, all around the world. It is used for sharing photos, videos, creating statuses, communicating through messaging, and even networking. Facebook is well liked because it allows people who don’t get to communicate or see each other often, stay in touch. Facebook even has a video chat option now. Many people sell stuff on Facebook through pages created for buying and selling. People also enjoy playing games on Facebook.
Vine• Vine is great because it is just videos that only last 6-10 seconds, but
continues to repay over and over. People who create good vines, become vine famous. There are some really funny vines. My problem with Vine is that I get on there for 5minutes and 5minutes turns into 30minutes!
YouTube• YouTube is a very popular social media site used for
watching and uploading videos. The main reason I use YouTube is for music, and watching tutorials. People also can get famous from YouTube, it’s a way to get noticed.
Instagram• I LOVE Instagram because its just pictures! Of course people can type
what they want to say under the pictures, but you don’t create statuses, you simply just upload pictures, and videos.• You can comment and like people’s pictures. You also can direct
message on Instagram. The reason I like Instagram so much is because how simple it is to use.• Instagram also has the choice of adding filters to your photos to
create different effects, which is really cool.
Twitter• Instead of creating statuses, “tweeting” is what we do on Twitter.
Twitter is all about creating tweets and retweeting other people’s tweets which is the same as sharing a status on Facebook. You can upload pictures and videos to twitter, as well as send direct messages. To communicate with someone on twitter you simply type the @ symbol, then type the username you are trying to communicate with. In contrast with Facebook, you follow someone on twitter instead of adding them as a friend.
Pinterest• I do not really post on pinterest, but I do use it almost everyday. You
“pin” things to your page that interest you. There are so many categories from cooking recipes, DIY home projects, hair and makeup ideas, as well as clothing. It has humor posts, lots of advice and many more. Pinterest is another one of my favorites!
FLIPGRAM• Flipgram allows you to create videos out of your pictures, with special
features like adding music and cool effects. Then you can post it onto other social media sites.
Snap Chat• Snap Chat is another favorite of mine because you message through
pictures. You send a “snap” (picture) and you can type messaging on the picture or color on it and it instantly sends, but only lasts 10 seconds, of course lots of screenshotting goes on. You also have a “story” which in a sense is like your page and you post snaps on there, all of your friends can see it for 24hours then it disappears.
As you can see I use social media in my everyday life, these are really the only ones that I use. There is many more out there that I did not talk about.
