My village’s name is Orgnac l’Aven

and it is situated in

« Ardeche » in the Southof France.

There are about seven hundred kms between my village and Paris

There are different towns to go shopping: we often go to Avignon, Bagnols sur Cèze or Alès.

My village hasn’t got theatres,operas,concert halls, cinemas,famous restaurants, universities, big green

areas...

And other than school bus, there aren’t many public transports.

Because, my village is small, there are three hundred and eighty inhabitants in winter

but this number grows about ten times in summer .

The essential wealth of Orgnac l’aven are tourism and agriculture.

Tourism

The most important tourist attraction is the

Cave and the regional prehistoric museum.

the site has benefited in 2000 from the operation 

“Grand site de France”

It is a very nice monument !

The first room of the cave go by his name, and his funerary urn is visible in the first room.

Agriculture Agriculture is the other very strong economic element of my village

it’s essentially represented by the wine production

The cellar is one of the most important in Ardèche !

 Other agricultural productions are the fruit

trees (cherries,

apricots)   and the olive trees.

Festivals in my village

- Every year, Every first Sunday of May, there is « Fête du Chien »

(Party of the dog). It is especially for hunters.

- Every year too, Every fifteenth August, there is a feast in the village.

Free time:

adults can go fishing, fighting, ( There are a lot of Forests in Orgnac l’Aven, and we aren’t far from rivers )

Teenagers meet their friends in the village, and we speak…

We can go to the mountains (to ski) and we can go to the seaside !

My village is well situated, because we aren’t far from mountains, the seaside, towns and my village is situated in the countryside! There aren’t

a lot of inhabitants but in the summer, there are a lot of tourists!

I like my village very much.
