Hello  everyone!  My  name  is  Michela,  Icome  from  Italy  and  I'm  25  years  old(well,  almost  26!).  I  graduated  from  Ca'Foscari  University  Venice  with  a  BA  inLanguages,  Art,  History  andCivilization.  Since  then  I  have  lived,studied  and  worked  in  4  differentcountries  in  2  continents.  I  have  workedas  content  editor,  copywriter,  press  officerand  journalist.  I  start  my  MA  inInternational  Public  Relations  and  GlobalCommunications  Management  atCardiff  University  in  September  2014.  On  your  right  you  can  see  some  wordsthat  describe  me!

I  want  to  become  a  prepared  professional.  Inthe  past  4  years  I  have  worked  in  various  rolesrelated  to  communications  -  as  content  editor,copywriter,  press  officer  and  journalist.  But  I  have  acareer  goal  I  would  like  to  reach,  and  I  feel  that  it'stime  to  get  an  advanced  education.

I'm  passionate  about  communications  in  its

wider  forms.  I  love  to  write,  interact  with  people,  get  to

know  new  cultures,  learn  new  skills,  be  involved,

organize  events,  learn  foreign  languages...  I'm  sure  this  is

the  right  career  path  for  me.

If I had one dollar left, I would spend it on PR. ~ Bill GatesPR  is  firmly  at  the  heart  of  strategic  organizationalplanning  and  it  is  embedded  in  everything  frompolitics  and  business  to  celebrity.

The road to success is always under construction

At  this  point  in  my  life,  an  advanced  university  education  is  an  investment  that  is  certainly

worthwhile  to  realize  my  long-term  career  goal  (if  you  wish  to  know  more  about  it,  please  go

to  page  8).  I  have  already  gained  some  work  experience  in  my  home  country  and  abroad  and

I  would  like  to  keep  growing  both  as  an  individual  and  a  professional.  I'm  enthusiastic  about

the  prospect  of  starting  this  new  adventure!

I  would  like  to  work  in  the  PR  &  Communications  department  of  a  non-governmental

organization.  I'm  especially  interested  in  NGO  that  deal  with  women's  rights  and  gender

equality  (in  my  BA's  thesis  I  examined  the  role  of  women  in  the  American  Revolution).  It  is  not

always  easy  for  non-profit  organizations  to  catch  the  attention  of  media  professionals,  but  a  good

Public  Relations  practitioner  could  play  a  key  role  in  this  sense.  I  hope  to  become  a  prepared

professional  and  help  to  improve  the  public  perception  of  women's  rights  and  gender  equality.
