Shots of the Band

Shots of the band are an important code and convention. This is because it allows the fans to connect with the band they like, therefore in the first section it shows all members of the band close up, so that when the viewer watches the video they are shown the band they like from the offset connecting them with the song and the music video.

Performance shotsPerformance shots are a key code and convention as it allows the viewer to see the band playing the song they are hearing. This performance shot in my video is important as it takes the performance and changes the setting to something completely unique so the viewer when watching the music video is exposed to a complete new side of the band and the song

Narrative My Music video also follows codes and conventions of narrative. The narrative is important as it breaks up the performance shots as well as taking the viewer on a journey through a story that ties in with the song. In my narrative I show one of the band members dying from a drug overdose, at his funeral the band members join together and he is resurrected and spends one final night with band and friends before returning the the same spot being immersed back into the funeral and laying the rest again. This narrative is also important as it gives the song a meaning and a gravitas
